Today we commemorate the Chartist Rising, which happened on this day in 1839.
We remember the tragic events which occurred at the Westgate hotel, and those who came in the dark to pay tribute to the 22 killed in the name of democracy.

Every year we gather to remember the 22 men who died fighting for democracy on November 4th 1839.
This year we asked for reflections on how the actions of the Chartists continue to impact our lives today.
