I was BORN here.

There are more transplant adults to South Carolina than Native-Born South Carolinians.

They're pouring in from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and California.

They dont understand the South, and in many cases, they dont care to. They're not interested in finding good BBQ or fried chicken so much as NY style pizza and Bagel shops

This is why we have to be especially protective of Confederate names and monuments. These people dont understand why they're important. These people might even actively want them to come down.

South Carolina passed an ironclad monuments protection law, and you should pressure your lawmakers to do the same

Russian couple detained for reading the Bible in the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.

According to "Ostorozhno, Novosti," the couple, 35-year-old Victoria and 32-year-old Igor F., arrived in Turkey from Moscow for a vacation on the evening of July 13. Yesterday, on July 14, the couple visited the Hagia Sophia, one of Constantinople's main attractions. There, the man took out a Bible he had brought with him. Igor told "Ostorozhno, Novosti" that after this, the couple was "immediately surrounded and taken down, out of the Hagia Sophia." The Russians were taken to a police station in the Fatih district.

According to the police report, the couple are suspected of violating Article 216 of the Turkish Criminal Code – “inciting hatred or hostility among the population or degrading a section of the public.”

According to Igor, law enforcement officials are deciding whether to keep the couple in custody or send them to a deportation center. "We are not allowed to return to the hotel; they took my shoelaces, and they want to take fingerprints. They said that our fate will be decided here. There is not a single person here who speaks Russian," Igor said. The couple is asking for help from Russian diplomats.

Hagia Sophia was built in the sixth century as a Christian Church. Following the fall of Constantinople in 1453, it was converted into a mosque. In 1934, the building was designated a museum, but in 2020 the Turkish authorities in a provocative move reopened it for Muslim worship.

Minnesota's clingy refusal to do the same with the 28th Virginia's Gettysburg flag—complete with ex-Governor Ventura's sneering "Why? I mean, we won"—isn't proud Union defiance; it's the petty tantrum of a sore winner who can't stop polishing his participation trophy 160 years later. If the North's victory was so righteous and complete, why treat these relics like a toddler hoarding stolen toys instead of showing the grace Coolidge modeled? True victors build unity, not museums of resentment; keeping the flag just proves the "lost cause" crowd was right about one thing—the Union's moral high ground has always had a few holes in it.

This one's pretty wild.

On December 27, 2025 28 year old Marcus Brown, Jr decided it was a good idea to grab a gun and kick down the front door of 33 year old Daniel Songer in Muncie Indiana whilst yelling "police!" multiple times.

Mr. Songer (a prohibited person) then grabbed his girlfriend's gun and shot Mr. Brown multiple times until the firearm malfunctioned, killing Mr. Brown.

Mr. Songer was arrested on preliminary charges of obstruction of justice and unlawful carrying of a handgun.

Laws on prohibited persons using a lawfully owned roommate's/spouse's/etc... gun for home defense vary wildly by state and I'm guessing Indiana isn't super favorable in these instances based on the charges here.

Also, this is YET ANOTHER example of criminals pretending to be police while kicking in a door. Yelling police or wearing a uniform is a common tactic by criminals who don't want to get shot while breaking in.
