I am delighted that our article on competition law and comparative capitalism, co-authored with @thelenkathleen1, is now published in @cps_journal!
This represents years of collaborative effort. I am thrilled to see it find a home in such a good journal.

Trump 2.0 reverses Marx’s quip.
The first time was farce—outrageous pronouncements, endless scandals, and general incompetence.
The second time is tragedy: millions lose critical support, the liberal international order crumbles, and the American state is destroyed from within.
Thanks so much for the spot-on summary of our article, @HfPMuenchen! It was a pleasure working on the article during our time at HfP and getting feedback on our research from so many of our excellent HfP colleagues. @ChaseMFoster@VellahKigwiru#DMA
Here's my take on this year's Nobel prize in economics.
I highlight that it exposes how the economics discipline fails to ask critical questions about colonialism, imperialism and the universality of western institutions.

For the past six months, I’ve been trying to figure out why the tech industry – and in particular crypto – have been pouring so much money into political races.
The answer is bigger, and much more wide-ranging, than we think, and it appears in the New Yorker today.

📢 SOAS Global Development Seminar Series!
Join us for the first seminar of the 2024-25 series!
@IliasAlami will discuss his recent book, co-authored with @DrAdam_Dixon, "The Spectre of State Capitalism." The book argues that we are seeing a historic shift in state intervention, where states now act as promoters, supervisors, and direct owners of capital. Alami and Dixon explore how this "new state capitalism" is reshaping global capitalism with major implications for world politics.

Thrilled to start my new role as Lecturer in Politics @kings_eis!
So much so, I made a 'first day of school' sign while visiting family in the USA —creatively designed by a special 5-year-old who just started Kindergarten & was impressed that I'm still in school after 30 years!
I've truly enjoyed my time at SOAS and learned so much from working with an international faculty and diverse student body.
I'll deeply miss my amazing colleagues and students and hope to stay connected with the School's exciting teaching and research initiatives.
