If you're sober curious or struggling, i recommend reading The Naked Mind by Annie Grace. The info she gives in this book helped my mind shift from "i can't drink anymore" to "i don't WANT to drink anymore". Made it so unappealing for good ππΌ
Ironically, I haven't told anyone in my real life besides my husband that I have stopped drinking. Not even my best friends or family know. I've spent time with them and said no thanks to alcohol but they didn't ask me about it. I'm grateful to share on here
Hi everyone ππΌ it's been a while, but i am still here, sober, and happy! Life is keeping me busy but i truly have no desire to drink anymore. I feel so grateful to have made the decision last June and honestly am really proud of myself.

They say "you're powerless over alcohol".
Here's another option:
Alcohol is only uncontrollable when you put it inside your body. Outside of your body, it has no power over you.
Want to be able to control your actions?
Take the uncontrollable variable out of the equation.
Today I wake up grateful for my progress, for my increasing confidence and trust in myself, and for a good 8 hrs of sleep allowing me to wake up with no alarm at 05:30. I'm growing to love the quiet and dark mornings πβοΈππΌ

Do you have before/after photos from when you were drinking to now?
I hated looking in the mirror when I was drinking. I looked so haggard and puffy and old. I also hated looking in the mirror because I was so ashamed.
Now I look myself in the eye and am confident in who I am.
Knowing your goal, doing the work, and listening to those who know how to do sobriety is important.
Another important thing is your focus.
If you focus on what youβre missing out on, chances are you'll struggle to stay sober.
Shift your focus to what youβre gaining. A tiny little shift in perspective can make the difference between more days sober and relapse.
What are you gaining?
The words, "I will be" is a confession
to what you are not.
'I am' is a creation statement.
'I am' lives in the present.
'I am' takes the pressure off the future.
'I am' walks you into the becoming.
'I am' spurs you to action.
You must make yourself congruent to your 'I am'.
Not sure if you're ready to let go?
The fastest way to know if something is making your life worse is to get rid of it (for a while, at least).
The results will be all the evidence you need.
"Do not ask things to happen as you wish, but wish them to happen as they do happen, and your life will go smoothly."
Epictetus, The Handbook, 8
Epictetus tells us here to accept fate, to accept the present.
Why will life go smoothly if we do so?
When we learn to accept the now, our desires, wants, and aversions become non-existent.
Removing these will reduce our frustrations, fear, and anxiety.
We will learn to be grateful for what we have.
Don't wish for things outside of your control. Focus on what you can control.
And everything you need to live a peaceful life is with you all the time.
Your reason and logic.
