The argument behind the increase in Maryland vehicle registration fees is fair. I don’t like it either. HOWEVER, I implore you to look into why these changes were made and understand how the Maryland General Assembly works. The MGA proposed legislation for this increase AKA your elected representatives per district and he signed the bill into law

THIS WHY LOCAL ELECTIONS MATTER. If you do not like it, then participate in local elections by what? VOTING!

Find out who your state representative is and bring them up on charges. Attend the town halls. Make your voices heard. We sit around and complain yet remain misinformed everytime election season rolls around

THAT IS WHY, “I’m not voting” doesn’t work for me. At minimum, help initiate the change you want to see.

With proper research, it is obvious. That was the whole point of the post. Vetoing in this case would’ve just delayed the inevitable since the general assembly (again, your state representative) proposed the hike in registration fees. Same song and dance they do in Congress. If you don’t like it, then participate by voting for those who vow to represent their constituents with integrity. That’s not for me to decide for anyone. I have an opinion and stance on this topic just like everyone else.

The Maryland General Assembly came back with a different proposal so that number was reduced. Additional cuts were proposed this year to close that $3 billion budget shortfall the state was facing 🙁 and it may not mean much by me saying this but I’m sorry your family is directly impacted by this. Hopefully the powers that be can come to a resolution that works for everyone

Show me where it says Moore proposed billons (with a B) in tax cuts for the DDA. My research says otherwise. Budget shortfalls are the reason for the cuts. I don’t agree but as governor, I’m sure he makes tough decisions all the time that everyone won’t agree with. It’s the name of the game.

Cox is running on opposition so of course he would make this one of his campaign promises. Politics 101.
