We need to also please be very loud and supportive for Kendall who was violently raped by an LSU football player and bravely told her story to the world
“I Say a Little Prayer” was not originally planned for Aretha Franklin's 1968 album Aretha Now. During a break from the recording sessions, Aretha and her backing vocal group, The Sweet Inspirations, began singing Burt Bacharach and Hal David's song simply for fun. Producer Jerry Wexler heard them and immediately recognised that the performance was something special so he had it recorded.
Originally released in 1968 as the B-side to “The House That Jack Built,” Aretha's version quickly received enough radio airplay to become a hit in its own right. It reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 3 on the R&B Singles chart and No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming her ninth consecutive Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Decades later, Bacharach and David both praised Franklin's interpretation, with Bacharach saying that she had made a better record than the original.
61 year-old math teacher Rosa Green tragically lost her life in a head-on, two-car collision along U.S. Route 178. She spent over 24 years educating students at North Middle/High School in South Carolina. It is absolutely heartbreaking when an incredible teacher who spent her entire adulthood serving young minds is suddenly torn away from her community by a reckless driver
