Liam has the ouster story: Southern Baptists uphold ouster of Saddleback, Fern Creek churches over women pastors https://t.co/7dg7wmgCmd via @tennessean
I planted sunflowers in a fit of rage and grief the day of the Covenant shooting. This weekend, I noticed the first blooms of that chaotic seeding appeared and it sparked a lot of emotions. But they’re just so pretty I have to share.
Be good to each other folks.
"If you go out with Bill Beck anywhere in Madison, everybody came up to Bill, and everybody knew exactly who he was. And that’s why I jokingly referred to him as the ‘Prince of Madison’ because he really was royalty," Rep. @JRClemmons tells @BlaiseGainey. https://t.co/KRW1PW8OIK
Covenant School parents do not want the assailant’s writings to be made public. WPLN's @MariannaBac reports a Nashville judge has ruled they can make their case before the court while it considers a suit seeking to release documents related to the shooting.https://t.co/r1RLbQdCGO
Weirdly, in closing arguments, the state's attorneys requested that--should the law be found unconstitutional--U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Parker should only apply that unconstitutionality to Shelby County, and not the rest of the state.
Thank you @ThisIsNashville for having us in the studio today! During the episode, @jeff_tdc mentioned several resources that we would like to share with folks. Check out the thread below for resources and links.

Hell yeah! Congrats to everyone at @WPLN , but ESPECIALLY the brilliant work done by @rosegilbert99. She's a tremendous journalist and storyteller and I'm grateful we as Nashvillians are lucky with to have her.
Great work!
I know @ambriehlc got this win for her incredible storytelling on such a difficult subject, but the creative ways she made sure this reporting reached the community it was covering deserves a shoutout of its own.
Like, postering! Who thinks of that in this digital media world?
Governor Bill Lee has signed a bill that abolishes the Community Oversight Boards in Nashville and Memphis.
The new law does allow Metro Council to create a new oversight committee, but they would lose their ability to conduct independent investigations.
A joy story so strong I was beaming to myself just copy editing. Kudos to @alexistmarshall for bringing the sunshine she personally does to our newsroom daily to our listeners today on air 💖
Nashville’s government employs nearly 10,000 Tennesseans. WPLN's @cindy_abrams reports a new eight-year analysis from the Metro Human Relations Commission shows struggles with diversity and equity across all 51 departments. https://t.co/XWcH9Vw35l
The Tennessee General Assembly will reconvene for a special session on Aug. 21. WPLN's @MariannaBac reports Gov. Bill Lee announced the date of the session Monday, less than three weeks after the official legislative session ended early. https://t.co/vxNYfawJrS
We can't sprint to our fundraising goal without a sturdy pair of socks! That's why we're opening our SOCK VAULT today with classic designs from fund drives past. For $10/month, you can pick out one of our sentient sock friends to show your support for WPLN.https://t.co/aoQ08Ozrnr
So glad that this story about the hard work of @alexyoun is airing again today. @propublica and @WPLN are looking for stories similar to this one — if you know someone who was harmed with a gun the perpetrator should not have had, get in touch: https://t.co/azlmJecp57
