The first time I marched at PRIDE was in 2017. It wasn’t as big as it is now and frankly we didn’t have a lot of allies in government. Imagine my surprise to see a Senator there. The ONLY national political figure present. And she didn’t just give a speech of solidarity. She backed it up through public service every chance she got, fighting for us.

‘I BELONG TO A POLITICAL CLAN… AND YET I SUPPORT THE PASSAGE OF AN ANTI-POLITICAL DYNASTY BILL’
WATCH: Himamaylan, Negros Occidental Vice Mayor Justin Gatuslao publicly declares his support for the passage of an anti-political dynasty law — despite acknowledging that he is part of a powerful political clan.
“I belong to a political clan. One often described as among the longest standing and most enduring in our province. And yet I am here with you today to say plainly and clearly without hesitation that I support the passage of an anti-political dynasty bill,” Gatuslao says.
He specifically supports provisions that would prohibit relatives from immediately succeeding one another in the same elected position.

I know it seems like an excuse but I know I didn’t try my best. No proper review, just tried to wing it. This is a reminder to myself to take this matter seriously. No “winging it” can compare to preparations.
