I've been analyzing Instagram "comment" data today and the impact of "first-time engagers" compared to "repeat engagers." Below are some super interesting highlights, a more formal report to follow shortly.
Just measured 2 of our top creators using @chatforfive . One creator has 1.9M followers and the other has 3.3M followers. Both have very similar results 👇
Across both account's entire lifetime history, 41% of the comments on each post are "first-time commenters."
Posts w/10k+ comments = 71% first-timers
Post w/5k-10k comments = 61% first-timers
Post w/1k-5k comments = 56% first-timers
Post w/500-1k comments = 52% first-timers
Post w/200-500 comments = 40% first-timers
Post w/100-200 comments = 31% first-timers
Post w/50-100 comments = 34% first-timers
Post w/less than 50 comments = 41% first-timers
