Perhaps the public should also have the right to sue them for producing absolute garbage and forcing people to listen to it on public radio and TV frequencies. If they want to monetize everything, perhaps they should also be held accountable for the quality of what they produce.

ACPOSL taking a share of ticketed events is understandable, as these events generate direct revenue. I agree and support 100%.
But extending this to unticketed private events? An absolutely shameless and cheap attempt.

Appreciate the fact that the Government of President @anuradisanayake has stuck to the Fuel Pricing formula for the month of October, irrespective of what was said in the run up to the Presidential election about removing taxes on fuel and not following the formula.

3 main reasons for the price reduction based on the fuel pricing formula -

1. With more suppliers participating and competing on CPC tenders over the last 6 months, the import prices are at the lowest in 3 years. The term tenders secured over the last few months tenders will bring more benefit to the consumers over the next 6 months.

2. Global oil prices have come down significantly in the last few weeks since the sharp rise in oil prices in 2022.

3. Economic reforms of the last 24 months - that has led to the rupee appreciating against the USD, interest rates reducing, repayment of CPC outstanding loans and reduced risk premiums.

For an immediate significant reduction on fuel, the Government will have to take a policy decision to reduce the taxes per liter which is about Rs 98-150 on different petroleum products. There are currently no taxes on Kerosine.
