Thank you @ONArtsCouncil for supporting my writing. Much appreciated and honoured to receive funding and the encouragement to keep on working at it. @tedhsu
@CKWS_Hutch How sad. Our family moved in Kingston in 1980 and watching CKWS news was part of our everyday. Thank you, Bill and the crew at CKWS. You will be missed.
@ChauDavidH@MasterClass Amen. I always say get the first draft done as fast as humanly possible. Do the whole thing as a TalkingDraft if you must, but never stop no matter how bad it is until it's done. THEN revise, revise, revise. You can edit a bad page, you can't edit a blank page.
@tori_goggin I guess if the tags bring attention to itself rather than the dialogue, then adjust accordingly. I feel they should just be part of the background or offstage to support the actual spoken word. As such, I don't notice the endless repetition of "said."
@ATryniecka "Count of Monte Cristo" taught me that literature can be as gripping as today's best thrillers. "Brothers Karamazov" with its irreverence, and "Don Quixote" with its lol comedy.
@GullionKrieg I am not sure if it counts as reading per se, but Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks and Things that Go was the first book I remember. The pigs, rabbits, foxes, alligators, and wormy left an impression!
Fascinating interview about Frank Herbert's idea for #Dune. Not just a simple hero narrative, but also its dangerous repercussions for society.

Just finished watching Neil Gaiman’s @MasterClass. Big takeaway: Finish what you started. Limp, crawl, stagger to the end, whatever it takes. A trail of plot holes, silly dialogue, and one-dimensional characters? Go back to make it sound like you always knew what you were doing.
Wow! Just read 2021 Int'l Booker Prize winner-David Diop’s “At Night All Blood is Black”. Writing that hits you right in the guts. Best use of anaphora (repetition of phrases) I’ve read in a long while. Stripped down, raw sentences that are beautiful and shocking! #bookerprize
