@billycostigansr We should definitely stand firm on our demands. The player's advisors seem intent on making his demands known publicly, which will create tension. The Saliba situation is a good comparable I suppose.
Van Hecke is coming in to replace Romero, a very known quantity to RDZ & it makes sense. The Vusco deal needs to be viewed on its own terms - if he's insisting he starts or we sell him, no loan, then we should extract a good fee with important sell on/buy back clauses & move on
Brighton will have promised Vuscovic a starting place and a transfer to a CL team if they come calling in a year or two. Spurs won't promise him either, nor should they.
@KidiabaPonyTail Yeah the substance is fair enough, but dating back to the Hamburg loan, the reporting has felt tonally quite different. If I was Spurs, I wouldn't welcome the player's detailed desires being spelt out like this so often in public. From the player's side, perhaps it's just good PR
@KidiabaPonyTail I'm being reactionary to the way reports keep spelling out his decisions like they're fait accompli with Spurs as the last relevant party who will just bow to his demands.
@KidiabaPonyTail Yeah I'm not quite sure what his outstanding attributes are, although he clearly has a strong mentality and is pretty good at lots of things. I feel like he doesn't know exactly the player he sees himself as.
@billycostigansr@Ben_White86 Yeah it'd be hard for him, or any player, to resist. I really hope he goes abroad, I do hate the idea of seeing him at a different PL club.
@billycostigansr@Ben_White86 Certainly feels like Real are only choosing Konate because he's free but perhaps he'll suit Mou-ball to some extent. Real have a pretty unbalanced squad.
@Ben_White86@billycostigansr Ah yes, I'd forgotten about him too. A lot to ask of him to join the PL & instantly be their mainstay RCB though. I guess Leoni will also be back soon but he's left sided, I think, & also new to the league.
@billycostigansr@Ben_White86 Perhaps Konate means they're sorted? Liverpool seem to have the most pressing need & without the RDZ bond, I wonder if they'd have gone for JCVH. Maybe they'll try for Huijsen or Zabarnyi (haven't seen any links but speculating now it's Iraola) & it'll start a CB domino effect.
@Ben_White86 Totally agree. The way we're moving with JPVH makes me think we kinda know where he's going already. Possibly Atletico will have the money once they sell Alvarez & maybe we can do some mutually beneficial accounting with the Gallagher money.
@KidiabaPonyTail I imagine this means things have progressed with Savinho, which I think I'm pretty happy about, so long as they've really deep dived on his ability to play from the left
@Andrew61_P@billycostigansr@ZelenskyyUa They could show you a lot about Putin, his background and his modus operandi. Ukraine 'wanting to joining NATO' is just the latest excuse for his desire to re-establish the old Soviet Union. It's clear as daylight who the aggressor is here.
