We ended our evening with games of Uno and Mafia, before heading to bed to get some rest. Tomorrow is Friday and we are ready to make the most of our remaining time here in Homestead! (4/4)
Homestead Immersion Day 4- Today was a long, but productive day here at the South Dade Camp! In the morning, we got back to work painting our mural project for the La Salle Educational Center, which is going quite smoothly! (1/4)
We played soccer and basketball with the students, while some raced students or played other games! In the evening, the group pulled together to cook dinner and we shared a meal with Br. Peter and a member of the South Dade Camp. (3/4)
After lunch, we continued our work with the students at the La Salle Educational Center! After a great dinner of arroz con pollo prepared by Br. Javi, we continued our evening reflection and got some much needed rest! Stay tuned for what Thursday brings! (3/3)
Homestead Immersion Day 3- Yesterday, we had another rainy but very busy day! In the morning into the afternoon, we assisted with Farm Share, a food distribution program for the residents of the South Dade Camp. (1/3)
After retrieving the food with Br. Peter, we unloaded a UHaul truck and began the process of organizing and distributing the food to the community. Simultaneously, we continued our painting project in the classroom. (2/2)
Today is Farm Share day at the South Dade Camp! The LaSalle Educational Center picks up food in a UHaul from the Farm Share facility, just a short drive from Camp and we will assist in organization and distribution!
(2/2) In the afternoon, we spent time with the children of the South Dade Camp tutoring, playing games, and having fun! Tomorrow is another busy, full day!
Homestead Immersion Trip Day 2- The group had quite a busy day today! We purchased supplies for our classroom mural and prepped the space by cleaning, mopping, and applying a primer coat.
