Note to anyone angry that Trump's name was taken off the Kennedy Center, don't you worry. You can still find his name in the Epstein files over 38,000 times.
14 June 1940 | From the prison in TarnĂłw, the Germans deported the first transport of Polish prisoners to Auschwitz concentration camp (KL Auschwitz), consisting of 728 men. They were assigned numbers from 31 to 758 and placed in quarantine in a building of the former Polish Tobacco Monopoly, located near a railway siding and separated from the rest of the premises by barbed wire.
This transport included many young men detained at the southern borders of Poland while attempting to reach the Polish armed forces in France, as well as organizers of such escapes. Also among them were individuals arrested in the spring of 1940 as part of the âAB Actionâ â resistance organizers, political and social activists, members of the Polish intelligentsia, priests, and a dozen or so Jews.
Among them were representatives of Polish culture, such as: painter Jan Komski (no. 564), painter and architect Jan GÄ sior-Machnowski (no. 724), sculptor Antoni Suchecki (no. 595), and renowned skier, Olympian, mountaineer, and alpinist BronisĆaw Czech (no. 349).
At the same time, an additional 100 SS men, officers, and non-commissioned officers were sent to reinforce the camp SS garrison.
The prisoners were driven in a very brutal manner into the basement of the building, where they underwent the so-called admission procedure. This included the confiscation of personal belongings, bathing, disinfection, body shaving, and registration with assignment of numbers.
After being returned their clothes, the newcomers were taken to the yard and lined up in rows of five for the first roll call. Then, the camp commandant (LagerfĂŒhrer) Karl Fritzsch addressed them with a speech in German, translated by two prisoner-interpreters. The speech went as follows:
âYou have not come to a sanatorium, but to a German concentration camp, from which the only way out is through the chimney. If anyone doesn't like it, he can go straight to the wires. If there are any Jews in the transport, they have the right to live no longer than two weeks; priests â one month; the rest â three months.â
This marked the beginning of the operation of the Auschwitz camp.

Noninvasive 40 Hz gamma sensory stimulation uses rhythmic pulses of light and sound to entrain the brainâs natural gamma oscillations, which are linked to memory, attention, and cognitive processing. This approach, often called GENUS (Gamma Entrainment Using Sensory stimuli), has shown promise in reducing the accumulation of amyloid-beta and tau proteins, the two primary pathological hallmarks of Alzheimerâs disease.
In multiple preclinical studies, daily one-hour exposure to 40 Hz light and sound reduced amyloid plaque burden, decreased tau pathology, protected neurons, preserved synaptic connections, and improved memory performance in mouse models of Alzheimerâs. Researchers observed that the stimulation enhances clearance of toxic proteins through the brainâs glymphatic system, its waste-removal âplumbingâ network.
A pivotal 2024 study from MIT demonstrated a key mechanism: 40 Hz multisensory stimulation activates vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP)-expressing interneurons, which promote increased cerebrospinal fluid influx and interstitial fluid efflux. This boosts glymphatic flow and accelerates the removal of amyloid proteins from brain tissue.
Human research has progressed from early feasibility trials to larger studies. In a Phase 2A pilot trial, patients with mild Alzheimerâs who received daily 40 Hz audiovisual stimulation for three months showed reduced brain atrophy (less ventricular enlargement and hippocampal volume loss), improved functional connectivity, better performance on memory tasks, and more stable daily activity rhythms compared to controls. Longer-term open-label extensions suggest sustained safety and potential cognitive benefits over two years in some participants.
A large Phase III clinical trial is currently underway to rigorously evaluate efficacy. While results remain preliminary and the therapy is not a cure, it represents a novel non-pharmacological strategy that aims to harness the brainâs own rhythms to activate natural cleanup and repair processes.
Early evidence also hints at broader applications for other neurological conditions, including Parkinsonâs disease, stroke, and epilepsy, though further research is required.

Applebaum: What binds Russia, China, Iran and North Korea is not religion or ideology.
China is communist, Russia nationalist, Iran theocratic. What binds them is fear of liberal language: rights, rule of law, separation of powers and independent courts. 1/
Today in 1942, Anne Frank received a diary for her 13th birthday.
She died at Bergen-Belsen at 15. But that diary of a frightened child in hiding gave the world its most powerful testimony.
Honor her by refusing to let them erase it. Anne Frank is the unimpeachable witness they can never silence.
Her words outlasted the Nazis. They'll outlast today's Holocaust deniers too.
13 June 1939 | A Hungarian Jewish girl, Agnes Szekely, was born in Budapest.
She was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber.
