The safety, security, and welfare of Senate personnel remain our top priority, following reports of possible threats within and around the Senate premises.

We have directed all Senate Secretariat and Senate Proper offices to adopt a work-from-home arrangement and implement heightened security measures in response to ongoing security concerns affecting the Senate complex from June 10 to 11.

Hindi tayo puwedeng maging kampante. Kung may intelligence information tungkol sa banta, dapat itong seryosohin. Lahat ng banta ay seseryosohin natin.

These measures are precautionary and intended to preserve peace and order amid reports from the National Bureau of Investigation regarding a credible threat to the Senate.

We have also directed the Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms to immediately enhance security protocols. This includes continuous security sweeps, increased surveillance, stricter screening procedures, and other measures to safeguard Senators, Senate officials, and staff.

A temporary no-visitor policy will likewise be enforced to ensure the safety of all personnel within the Senate complex.

We remain committed to protecting our employees’ welfare, upholding professional integrity, and ensuring that no personnel acting in good faith will be subjected to intimidation, retaliation, or unwarranted administrative action.

1. Yung convicted criminal ka of a crime involving moral turpitude, at it was a huge mistake for you to be pardoned because you are a menace to society.

2. Yung mahina ang utak mo, tamad ka pa na aralin mga issues. You are unbecoming of a Senator, at sayang ang pasweldo sayo ng taumbayan.

3. Yung kunyari eh nationalistic ka na ayaw mo malitis si Bato ng mga tinatawag mong banyaga, pero makitid lang talaga kokote mo na hindi mo naiintindihan na ang International Law ay part of the law of the land, batay na rin sa ating SARILING Saligang Batas. Pero sa issue ng Tsina at West Philippine Sea, nga-nga ka.

4. Yung katotohanan na wala ang loyalty mo sa taumbayan kundi sa mga Duterte at kaalyado mo lang.

5. At bukod sa lahat, yung hindi ka talaga namin deserve.

On my Manila Legazpi flight this morning, I received a surprise note and touching gesture from the crew of Flight PR 2919.

In the evening CEBUPAC flight 5K 320 back to Manila, on the other hand, as we disembarked from the plane, I received this thank you note from two Manila bound passengers.

Thank you to PAL FAs Erin, Bea, Drina and Alex and to CebuPac fellow passengers Kytrie and Charia for your kindness and your heartwarming acts of appreciation for the work that we do. It isn’t an easy job but some of us have to do it because we can and we ought to and yes as you put it, to fight for and to build a better Philippines especially for you the youth.

Your show of support inspires me and helps strengthen my resolve to continue to do right for you, your generation, our nation and our people.

We draw strength and inspiration from one another and in time our tireless efforts shall bear fruit.

One need not be a lawyer to recognize a legal issue. One need not be a doctor to recognize when a person has fever. And one need not be an engineer to recognize a bridge collapsing.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros may not be a lawyer but dismissing her argument on that basis is an attack on her credentials, not a defense of substance.

In public debate, the question is not who speaks. The question is whether what is being said is true.

If Senator Marcoleta disagreed with Senator Hontiveros, then he should answer her arguments, not her profession.

In the end, the irony was impossible to miss. Sen. Marcoleta was defeated by Sen. Sotto, a non-lawyer but knew the rules better.

That is the problem with credentialism. It confuses titles for wisdom and professions for truth.

It is perfectly understandable for Senator Pia or anyone caught in that incident to ask whether colleagues checked on their welfare. But public office requires us to look beyond ourselves.

Personal concern is natural. Public duty demands something more. At a time when the nation is asking how gunfire erupted in the Senate and how Senator Bato de la Rosa managed to evade arrest or why that ludicrous Senate Sargeant at Arms fired the first shot, the focus should be on institutional accountability rather than personal reassurance.
