@tanpukunokami Not famous but funny. My family camped in Acadia National Park. During a campfire talk the ranger told us to bring any lobster we find to the park rangers and "hide behinds" were monsters hiding behind trees between our camper and the bathroom. Then said "goodnight" laughing

@TiffMoodNukes Especially small businesses in some states. My barber was shut down by the state without compensation. So instead of being able to retire he works part time. But large stores were able stay open. I understand the difference, but my choice. I am unwilling to forgive that crap.

Five-year-old Dusty Rogers watched through a window as Roy Rogers and Dale Evans held each other outside their home for nearly eleven hours.

Their daughter Robin had died just before her second birthday.

The two people America expected to smile and sing were simply parents who could barely stand.

Dusty remembered, “We looked out the window, and they would just be sobbing, holding each other. I couldn’t understand why we couldn’t see Robin.”

Loss had already shaped Dusty's life.

Born in 1946, he was only days old when his biological mother, Arline, died after complications from childbirth.

Roy was suddenly raising three small children alone.

Then Dale entered their lives.

She married Roy in 1947 and became Dusty's mother when he was about 18 months old.

"Dale was my mother," Dusty later said.

"I never knew any other mother."

As a little boy, Dusty believed his father simply made movies.

Birthdays were spent on film sets.

Then he discovered something harder to understand.

Roy and Dale didn't belong only to their family.

They belonged to millions of children.

"You don't want to share your mom and dad," Dusty admitted.

Fame felt like it was borrowing his parents.

Everything changed again when Robin was born.

She had Down syndrome.

Doctors urged Roy and Dale to place her in an institution.

Roy refused.

"You never throw a gift away."

Robin came home.

Dusty loved making her laugh.

He would crawl beneath her crib, touch her arm, and wait for her giggles as she searched for him through the bars.

But Robin was fragile.

Her health could change overnight.

Dusty watched his parents wipe away tears, then step in front of cameras with broken hearts.

After Robin passed away, they returned inside and comforted their frightened children before trying to comfort themselves.

Still, their family kept growing.

When Roy and Dale adopted Sandy and baby Dodie, Dusty was jealous at first.

It didn't last.

Soon he was protecting Sandy whenever other children picked on him.

Roy gathered everyone together with one simple promise.

"You're all the same in God's eyes... and you're all going to be treated equally."

That wasn't just something he said.

It was how they lived.

Dusty also watched his father visit children trapped inside iron lungs during the polio years.

Roy promised each child they would wear a cowboy gun belt once they recovered.

Years later, grown adults still carried those belts.

They said Roy had given them hope.

More heartbreak followed.

Debbie died in a bus crash.

Then Sandy died while serving in Germany.

The empty bedrooms multiplied.

The grief never truly disappeared.

Yet through every loss, Roy and Dale kept choosing each other.

To the world, they were America's favourite cowboys.

At home, they were simply the parents who never stopped loving their children.

@HandyGingerGal LOL was hoping you didn't. First wasp sting I was a boy, had climbed a ladder to a first story roof to help my grandfather fix something. Got stung as soon as my hand hit the roof and so began a lifelong hatred of wasps. You gave 2 more reasons to hate them and kill on sight
