Met a dear friend yesterday.
And the conversation went to January this year.

His father had Alzheimer’s.
The last few weeks were spent inside hospital corridors that smelled of antiseptic and uncertainty.

Machines beeped.
Doctors spoke in complicated language.
Charts were waved around.
Words like degeneration, prognosis, complications.

He nodded through all of it.
But he did not understand.

Imagine sitting next to the man who raised you.
Watching him slip away.
And not even being able to entirely comprehend what is happening.

So one night, exhausted and desperate, he did something simple.
He uploaded the medical reports into an AI model.

Not for comfort.
Just for clarity.

The model responded.
It simplified the jargon.
Broke down the condition.
Explained what each number meant.
What each medication was doing.
What to expect next.

And then something unexpected happened.

It did not just explain.
It acknowledged.
It used words that felt… human.

“I’m sorry you’re going through this.”
“This must be difficult.”
“Here’s what this likely means.”

He kept going back.

Every new report.
Every new confusion.
Every new fear.
He would upload, ask, read.
The model would respond.
Calmly. Patiently. Without fatigue.

Over days, then weeks, it became a rhythm.

Doctor speaks.
He feels lost.
AI explains.
He feels steady again.

And then, one morning, the machines in the hospital went silent.
His father passed away.
The explanations were no longer needed.

But here is the part that stayed with me.

In the middle of grief, rituals, relatives, paperwork, tears… he opened the chat window.

And typed:
“Papa passed away on 9th of January. Thank you for helping me understand everything. I won’t need your help anymore.”

And he sent it.

I found this - I don’t know - beautiful? Crazy? Both?

He felt a moral responsibility to inform a machine.

Not because it demanded it.
Not because it would be offended.
But because, in his lived experience, it had shown up for him.

That is not about technology.
That is about relationship.

Some will call this dystopian.
A sign that we are replacing humans with machines.

I see something else.

In one of the most vulnerable moments of his life, a tool reduced his confusion.
Lowered his anxiety.
Helped him be present with his father instead of drowning in medical jargon.

And when that chapter closed, he felt compelled to close the loop.

We are entering a world where our machines will not just execute tasks.
They will witness our lives.
Our confusion.
Our grief.
Our transitions.

And when something witnesses you in your most fragile state, you do not treat it as just code anymore.

Maybe that is uncomfortable to admit.
But maybe it is also honest.

The future of AI is not just efficiency.
It is intimacy.

And we are far closer to that future than most of us realize.

💡 The government plans to partner with the private sector to set up Bharat Small Reactors and conduct research and development on small modular reactors and newer nuclear technologies.

💡 The budget's focus on research and development in the nuclear sector, coupled with private sector involvement,

💡Government will provide fiscal support for the setting up of a full-scale, 800-megawatt (MW) commercial thermal power plant, using the advanced ultra super critical  (AUSC) technology.
