This was the sort of treachery that @checkouttv was so very, very excellent at explaining to the average consumer and good gods we desperately need it back again
Apparently these changes to the Telstra Disaster Assistance Package are not on the Telstra website yet. We’d call this a *Checkout Exclusive* if the word “exclusive” hadn't become so utterly meaningless in the media these days ...
This just in from Telstra ... *proactive* credits for bushfire affected customers as opposed to "you can apply". Much better: what a difference 10 days (and maybe a few questions) makes ...

This statement from Vodafone to The Checkout is clearer than the Vodafone Bushfire Assistance page, which just says “please contact us … to discuss options”. If you’re affected, do contact them. And feel free to quote this. For more detail, see https://t.co/TMuil1z1H6
For all reasonable consumers: if you knew when buying a pre-paid 12 month mobile plan:
* you still pay full monthly fee if (say) a natural disaster means you can't use your mobile for much of a month +
* no right to a pro rata refund in contract
would you buy the mobile plan?
Here’s a handy list from @choiceaustralia - 40 pseudonyms for *Added Sugar*.
Anyone for Added Sugar bingo?
First one to spot “Turbinado” or “Rapadura” in their pantry wins … some sugar.
Wishing everyone a Sweeeeeet 2020!
@checkouttv The exact same situation with my fitbit and Officeworks. LOVED whipping out the ACCC app on my phone and pinpointing my rights. Thank you @checkouttv
Miss you.
