HERE'S WHAT THE MENU IN GTA VI WILL LOOK LIKE

Former Rockstar dev Mike York went frame-by-frame on the GTA 6 Extended Look and flagged something most people missed:
Jason's mouth never fully closes into the "W" shape when he says "we." Lips don't quite purse together. It's subtle, but it's why a chunk of his facial animation reads as flat compared to everything else Rockstar's shown.
Not a knock on the tech probably the best faces in a video game right now. Just a specific gap between what the mouth is doing and what the voice is doing.
Worth watching for yourself before you decide if you agree.
GTA 6 LETS NPCS GO LIVE MID-CHASE AND THE CHAT REACTS IN REAL TIME
This is straight from Rockstar's own Extended Look footage: a character films herself with her in-game phone, hops in the trunk while a getaway car peels off at 2-3 stars, and a livestream overlay pops u "LIVE 51k," real scrolling chat, people typing "KING OF TRUNK" and "bro loves attention" while the cops are still behind you.
Not a menu screen. Not a cutscene. The chase and the livestream are the same take.
Every open-world game since 2013 has tried to make NPCs feel alive. Rockstar just made them main characters on someone else's phone.

Rockstar hasn't shown you a single frame of new gameplay in months.
Sony just shipped a controller.
Two colorways black/purple and white/purple, both with the VI logo etched into the touchpad and a Vice City sunset gradient on the box. $84.99. Pre-orders open Sept 10, ships Nov 19 three months before the game does.
This is the same playbook as the trailer drops: no gameplay, all vibes, and it still works. People are pre-ordering a controller for a game with no release date on the strength of a color scheme.
That's not marketing. That's just what happens when a fanbase has been waiting since 2013.
ROCKSTAR JUST SHOWED NPCS THAT CAN COUNT.
This clip is straight from GTA 6 footage a jewelry store robbery where the NPC actually tracks who's outnumbered in real time. 1 vs 1, he stands his ground. Second guy walks in, it flips to 1 vs 2, and suddenly he's radioing for backup instead of trading shots.
Every GTA before this had NPCs that either fought to the death or fled on a coin flip. This one's doing math mid-firefight.
77 days left. The bar for "smart enemy" just moved for the entire genre, not just this game.
DLSS 5 "UPGRADED" CLIPS ARE FLOODING X TODAY AND DEVS ARE PUSHING BACK
The original Cyberpunk 2077 clip alone: 7.5M views, 826 quote tweets.
Confirmed spread in the last 24 hours:
- Witcher 3 DLSS 5 comparison: 899K views, CD Projekt fans now begging for official support
- Death Stranding 2, Spider-Man 2, No Man's Sky, NFS Unbound all got the same treatment
- A quote calling it "flattened into completely intentionless realism slop" pulled 36.7K likes more than most of the source clips
Two indie studios didn't wait to get dragged into it. REPLACED and SacriFire both quote-tweeted the exact same line: "No DLSS 5. Just good art direction."
Nvidia didn't build a filter. It built a mirror and half the internet doesn't like what it's reflecting back on a decade of art direction.

MARIO KART 8 DELUXE JUST GOT A FEATURE NINTENDO NEVER SHIPPED IN 12 YEARS OF THE ORIGINAL GAME
Confirmed in the version 4.0.0 patch notes, not a leak: split-screen now supports up to 8 players at once on Switch 2, up from the 4-player cap the game launched with in 2014.
Same patch also adds: support for Switch 2's higher-resolution display output, shortened load times, and CameraPlay support.
This is a decade-old game getting a feature list that would headline most new releases. Nintendo didn't build a Mario Kart 9 moment they just finally let the old one use the hardware sitting in front of it.

GTA 6 IS KILLING THE ONE BUTTON EVERY GTA PLAYER HAS BEEN MASHING SINCE 2001
Confirmed, not a rumor: sprint is no longer tapping X/A. It's now a single press of L3/left stick, according to Mike ShowSha's hands-on preview at Rockstar North.
Drift moves the other way - now mapped to A/X instead of the shoulder button, because you can free-fire from vehicles this time.
Small change, but it's the one detail that made everyone who's played every GTA since San Andreas stop and actually feel it. Confirmed by three separate outlets off the same preview, not one leaker's word.

THE MOMENT THE EXTENDED LOOK SWITCHES INTO GUNPLAY IS WHY IT BEAT SUMMER GAME FEST'S VIEWER RECORD
Real numbers, not vibes: the presentation peaked at 3.97 million concurrent viewers across more than 9,000 streamers, per StreamsCharts. Summer Game Fest 2026 peaked at 3.8 million.
This is the transition clip people keep re-posting - the cut from cinematic into controlled gunplay, first time anyone's seen it move like that.
Rockstar didn't need a State of Play slot or a Netflix countdown to win the week. Four minutes of actual footage did it.

THE EXTENDED LOOK ENDS ON A LINE THAT WASN'T IN ANY OF THE MARKETING
"Might not feel like it but these are your glory days. The salad years, you know? Nothing is gonna beat who you are now. You can't see all the fucked up shit that's looming on the horizon. Enjoy this, dude. If this right now is all that there is... all the time. It would be perfect. Trust me."
Cal Hampton. Not Jason, not Lucia - a side character talking directly past the plot.
The clip of just this monologue is already sitting at 3,700+ likes on its own, separate from the full 26-minute video. People are quoting a random NPC's line back at each other three days after the reveal.

GTA VI preorders are breaking records
Preorders for the game currently sit at around 4.5 million copies, according to Sensor Tower
90% of those are the Ultimate Edition normally only 10-20% of players go for premium editions. Take-Two's CEO has already called the preorder numbers unreal.

Sony is backpedaling and pushing back the death of physical discs by two years - rumor has it Xbox forced them to revisit an "irreversible" decision.
Details:
- Xbox is building a new console with 100% physical media support, which is pulling the hardcore crowd their way
- Major devs are laying down an ultimatum: no physical releases, no big hits on PlayStation
- Under pressure, Sony is willing to consider delaying until 2029-2030 instead of the early cutoff they originally planned
We won.
Guy is beating Super Mario using... a butt plug
This genius shoved a plug up his ass and hooked up a mod that lets you use it as a controller. He's already cleared the entire first level with his ass.

GTA VI's online mode is AT LEAST A YEAR OUT
At least that's what Forbes thinks
According to them, Rockstar is focused squarely on the single-player story mode right now, while only a small part of the team is working on online
Because of that, the mode won't drop until 1-2 years after the main game releases

Cyberleek threatened to hack Steam next if Rockstar kept trying to identify him.
Then he went dark. This meme is basically the internet's verdict on what happened.
Nobody's confirmed he actually got grabbed - the "Dortmund" reports are still unconfirmed. But the timeline lines up too clean: threat, silence, zero new leaks since the trailer made his old footage look fake.
At some point "no comment" and "got got" look the same from the outside.
