@NetZeroWatch I wish you’d make up your mind either you want net zero or you don’t. You can’t just want it today and then claim it’s crashed the economy tomorrow.
@NetZeroWatch I thought we needed money for defence pretty urgently so unless you’re referring to Rosebank and Jackdaw I don’t see how other exploration and drilling is going to bring in tax revenue over that sort of time period.
@KathrynPorter26 Just saying something is jumbo jumbo without going into why is just sloganeering. And wittering on about people’s qualifications rather suggests you have no substantive argument to make.
@TheWeathergage@ClaireCoutinho Yes but apart from the US, China, Russia and perhaps India virtually every country could say the same. That’s the whole point about international cooperation: everyone does their bit. And please don’t say the UK is the only country pursuing net zero.
@lembitopik I think you’ll find the Express and the daily Mail regularly talk up the prospect of snow from about October onwards and, if a snowflake falls on Ben Nevis, they call it a white out. Why do you think they would be doing this?
@NetZeroWatch@JuliaHB1@aDissentient@TalkTV Apparently Reform councillors in Norfolk who were going to meet to cancel …”something something climate emergency” had to cancel their meeting because of extreme heat. Any chance they’ll see the irony?
@robinmonotti CO2 causes more heat to remain on the planet (mostly in the oceans) than would be the case without it (or without so much of it) It just means the planet as a whole will get hotter and so there will be more events like this.
@implausibleblog The position should have been “no plan, no Brexit” but that wasn’t what happened. People were literally prepared to vote for thin air.
@danielmgmoylan@williamnhutton But he didn’t resign because he thought he could win the next election but because the party thought someone else was better.
@MDC12345678@NetZeroWatch Finally some sense out of you but it’s more than scrapping the Climate Change Act 2008. It would mean going full on Trump and withdrawing from all international climate commitments.
