Think about that for a second. BMW offers an automatic M2 that shifts faster, accelerates harder, and is objectively the easier choice if performance is the only thing that matters. And still, roughly one in every two buyers says, “Give me the third pedal.”

That isn’t nostalgia. It isn’t about beating an automatic to 60 mph. It’s about buying an M car and still wanting to have a say in what happens between the corners.

The industry keeps telling us the manual is becoming irrelevant. M2 buyers seem to disagree.
