Until Tech changed my life.

I made my first million naira less than two years ago. Before then, life was mostly about surviving. Every purchase needed calculation. Going out felt like a luxury. There were places I only saw on TikTok and Instagram because I never imagined I'd actually sit there one day.

Earlier this year, I went to Ikoyi for the first time. I decided to enter one of those classy restaurants with plenty expatriate people and people looking like they were closing million-dollar deals.😭

I ordered one snack I've always seen people eating online. I later found out it was a croissant. Funny enough, I thought it was just one fancy meat pie. 😭 It wasn't until I got home and sent the picture to my friend that she said, "You know that's a croissant, right?" I just laughed. So apparently, I had my first croissant this year without even knowing it.

Then I ordered that green drink. That agbo-looking drink they call matcha. I had never tasted it before, but I kept seeing influencers drinking it, so I said today na today.

I saw the price and I just hissed.
Likeeeee... I can actually afford this? 😭😭
I laughed, brought out my ATM card and paid.

Na there e just hit me say... I actually guide small.

By the way, let me not lie to anybody. That matcha na agbo. Real agbo. Just agbo wey dem package well, add small vanilla and give am fine English name. 😭

After that, I ordered Uber Comfort, entered the car, AC dey blow me, music dey my ear, and I just sat there smiling.

I kept thinking, "So this is the life people with steady income have been enjoying all this while."
