Being a dad has been the biggest gift of my life. Since Orla arrived in my life 1567 days ago, every day has been brighter. She’s this endless well of happiness.
When I get home from work, every day, without fail, she sprints at me like I’ve been away for years and gives me the biggest cuddle, like those videos of servicemen and women returning home from war.
I don't think any one single person deserves the amount of joy she gives.
I’ve never been an anxious person. Ever. But sometimes I get this little pang in my chest thinking about the future. One day she’ll be older. One day she won’t want the cuddles, the silly games, the daily chaos and babysitting.
I know all kids to grow up, but I also want to freeze time just a tiny bit. Hold onto every single moment.
A common parental feeling or am I just overbearing?
When I met Kirsty, Savanna was 10 and finishing primary school.
She's now nearly 16 and going to Prom.
Very proud to see her grow into a beautiful, intelligent and kind young woman and a fantastic big sister to Orla.
The Country is going to hell in a handcart, but when all seems lost, remember this: we still have cheese!
Get yourself to St Martin‑in‑the‑Fields on Wednesday (4pm-8pm) and buy some of the best cheese on Earth!
A dear friend of mine owns Welwyn Florist and has been trying to get to 10k followers on insta
They're a family run florist for 35 years & are amazing!
I'll give away a cheeseboard to someone at random who gives them a follow on insta and retweet this!

KATE WINSLET'S FAVOURITE CHEESE:
One of my favourite actors on one of my favourite podcasts talking about one of my favourite foods!
Ed Gamble once told me his favourite food was Manchego and he has now changed his favourite:
Rob Reiner and his wife were tragically murdered.
Donald Trump went on a narcissistic rant, showing the world yet again that he is a man devoid of empathy, kindness, or humanity, when he could have simply posted the final line.
Off to London for a LONG walk with my best mate.
In 2026 I'm going to be doing a walk/hike or climb for @KeechHospice who provide free palliative and end-of-life care for people of all ages across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Milton Keynes.
Some of the places I'll see:
Regents Park
Hyde Park
Royal Albert Hall
Natural History Museum
Harrods
Battersea Power Station
Buckham Palace
Green Park
London Eye
St Paul's Cathedral
Borough Market
Tower Bridge
Cutty Sark
There will be lots of cheese along the way!
5 YEARS SOBER TODAY!
I was by no means an alcoholic, but I know for certain that if I didn't stop, I wouldn't be married or have had Orla so has to be up there as one of the best decisions of my life.
Whether you're 5 days, 5 weeks or 5 years without, you're smashing it.
Good morning, Alice.
Thank you for your sarcastic reply and critique that all I do to 'protect women' is tweet.
You may well be right; I have never claimed to be a full-time activist. However, I strongly believe that amplifying voices and challenging misogyny is something I have done over the five years that I have been using Twitter.
As someone who has amassed 45k followers (mostly by tweeting about cheese), I do have a voice on a huge platform, and the tweet that you're replying to had been viewed over 24,000 times, which is far more than I could achieve 'offline'.
As an accredited Mental Health First Aider, I understand the importance of active listening and have supported many female colleagues throughout my career.
I have created a fantastic safe space for my wife and two girls at home. As you spent over a decade as a PC for the MET, you will know all too well that the vast majority of cases of violence against women are domestic abuse-related.
I was not a particularly nice man in my 20s when under the influence of alcohol and would sometimes be verbally abusive to my ex-partners. I recognised that I didn't like the person I was becoming so took active steps to change.
On the 28th of November, I will be celebrating my 5th anniversary of sobriety, and I am beyond happy to say that I have never raised my voice to my wife or children, let alone a hand, and the space I have created for my family is one of love and safety.
I understand that these steps may pale into insignificance compared to the steps other men and women have made; however, I won't apologise for not doing enough or meeting the standards you believe I should meet.
I've battled my own demons and I am proud of the man I am today and won't be made to feel ashamed of my efforts thus far.
Do you have a favourite cheese?
My tweet yesterday stating "7 Sunday Facts" has caused a lot of controversy.
'fact' number 5 stated that:
Dogs are better than cats.
Lets settle this once and for all, which animal is better:
When my super talented wife isn't making us both look creepy for Halloween, she is an Award Winning Bridal MUA (make up artist)!
If you live in the UK and are looking for an MUA for a big day, give her a follow: @WildorchidMua (mostly uses insta).
For Halloween, I asked my make up artist wife make me look as creepy and disgusting as she could.
I was expecting Freddy Kruegar but she gave me Jeffrey Marsh.
