Andy played a key role in Athlone Town’s 2-0 win over Cobh Ramblers with an excellent goalkeeping display. He produced a number of important saves in the opening stages to deny Crowe & Gourdie, helping keep Athlone in the game while Cobh were on top. His early interventions proved crucial as Athlone went on to secure all three points.

Gavin delivered a Man of the Match performance for Finn Harps as they fought back to draw 2-2 with Treaty United on Friday. Operating on the right, he pulled a goal back with a superb strike into the top corner and later showed great awareness to set up Conor Tourish for the stoppage-time equaliser.

As Treaty United drew 2-2 with Finn Harps on Friday, Jason produced a memorable first half display. The winger struck twice inside the opening 20 minutes to put Treaty firmly in control - first after a strong run from midfield before finishing calmly & then with a superb curling effort from the edge of the box after cutting in from the left. His pace & direct running caused constant problems for the Harps defence.

Alex Healy-Byrne produced a solid performance as AFC Fylde recorded an impressive 4–1 win over King’s Lynn Town at Mill Farm on Saturday. The victory marked Fylde’s 10th consecutive home win in the National League North & saw them return to the top of the table.

▪️𝗞𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱 (19) @NUFC Newcastle United U21s
Kyle made a strong impact as Newcastle United U21s drew 1–1 with Leicester City U21s on Monday night. He opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a close-range left-footed finish into the bottom corner. He also provided an assist & played 75 minutes in an influential attacking display. He followed that up with another impressive showing on Friday night as Newcastle U21s continued their strong form with a 2-0 league win over Blackburn at Whitley Park.

As Cork City secured a late 2-1 win over Longford Town at Turner’s Cross on Friday, Josh Fitzpatrick was a constant attacking outlet & particularly dangerous down the right flank, creating several chances & repeatedly stretching the Longford defence. His energy & attacking threat saw him named Man of the Match in a strong Cork City display.

▪️ 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 (21) @DundalkFC
Ronan opened the scoring as Dundalk recorded their first win of the Premier Division season with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Waterford at Oriel Park. He rose between two defenders to head home Daryl Horgan’s cross on the half-hour mark, setting Dundalk on their way. He looked physically comfortable while showing real quality in possession & with his ball carrying.

Despite being on the losing side in Tuesday’s Eustace Cup Final as TU Dublin defeated SETU Carlow 2-1, Ethan delivered an outstanding midfield performance. Operating centrally, he was the main creative outlet for SETU Carlow, linking play well, driving attacks forward & registering an assist. His influence on the game saw him officially awarded Man of the Match on the day.

He followed that up on Saturday with Bray Wanderers U20s, scoring in their 3-1 win over Waterford U20s with a well-timed late run into the box, finishing confidently after a pull-back.

A standout week across two games, combining creativity, influence & a goal makes Ethan Cheese a deserving Young Irish Player of the Week..
