UAAP should indefinitely suspend AdMU from participating in sporting events. There must be a probe on what happened. There are clear lapses on the part of the coaching staff and management. Rumors circulating that "Team Building" like this were almost military like in nature.

I honestly don’t understand the hate toward Alyssa Valdez. Call me biased, but comparing her to Angel Canino or Bella Belen, who are amazing in their own eras, will never erase the fact that Alyssa helped change the face of Philippine volleyball. Long before the arenas were full, she pushed the sport forward simply because she loved it. People can call her a shanky passer or error-prone, but her peak was different. She competed with some of Asia’s best, including T4 and Pimpichaya, while carrying the weight of the sport on her shoulders.

If anything deserves criticism, it’s the Philippine volleyball program, not the athletes who gave everything despite the lack of support and long-term structure. Imagine what our players could have been with a real, consistent, world-class system. Alyssa didn’t just survive that flawed program, she excelled in spite of it, and that’s not something hate comments can erase.

Alyssa also deserved a proper, respectful exit from the national team. She didn’t get that, but it doesn’t change the impact she made. Instead of tearing her down, maybe we should give her the respect she earned, especially because the very players people idolize today grew up admiring and respecting her.
