4/ The Dreaded Impermanent Loss (IL) 💔

IL happens when the price of your tokens in the pool diverges from when you deposited them. The bigger the price change, the bigger the loss (vs. just holding the tokens).

Example:

✅You deposit 1 ETH ($2,000) + 2,000 DAI (total $4,000).

✅ETH price doubles to $4,000.
The pool rebalances: √(k) = √(1 * 2,000) ≈ 44.7.
✅New pool: 0.707 ETH + 2,828 DAI (still $4,000 total).

✅Your share (10%) = 0.0707 ETH ($283) + 282.8 DAI ≈ $566.

💧If you’d just held 1 ETH + 2,000 DAI, you’d have $4,000 + $2,000 = $6,000.

IL = $6,000 - $5,660 = $340 😱
IL reverses if ETH price drops back to $2,000.

A liquidity pool is a shared pool of tokens locked in a smart contract. It’s the backbone of decentralized exchanges (DEXs) like Uniswap. Instead of matching buyers/sellers, trades happen directly against the pool.

Example:

✅A pool has 10 ETH and 20,000 DAI (1 ETH = 2,000 DAI).

✅You add 1 ETH + 2,000 DAI to the pool. You now own 10% of the pool.
