LA County is moving swiftly to align its Health Officer Order with guidance issued today by the state of CA. Key sectors will be able to reopen immediately.

With the cancellation of the regional stay at home order, the LAC HOO issued on Nov. 25th is now in effect until we issue a new HOO later this week. On Friday, we will issue a new HOO allowing restaurants to reopen for outdoor dining with occupancy limits & masking requirements.
This month, with the support of Councilmember @KDeLeon, we opened The Lotus –– our 24th A Bridge Home shelter for homeless Angelenos.
With every new A Bridge Home shelter, we send a strong message: everyone deserves a safe place to sleep and a chance to get back on their feet.
REPORT from the parking garage where National Guard troops were re-assigned to take breaks instead of the US Capitol. Good news is they are allowed back & are packing up here. We brought hot soup that we are giving as they get onto buses & will serve back at the Capitol as well!

UPDATE from Lillian, Alabama where we are serving hot meals at the hurricane distribution point. Residents have been showing up every day waiting on a FEMA truck that just arrived, so we’ve made sure they have food to take home. Many are picking up for elderly neighbors as well.
When Jose asked us 2 write the prologue to his book abt his @WCKitchen experience in feeding Puerto Ricans after Hurricane Maria, I tried reading it for three weeks but every time I would start crying and had to put it down. I could not believe Impeached Trump’s irresponsibility!
