"We're here to say enough is enough to the corporate giants, those oligarchs, who would rather line their own pockets than protect the working conditions of their workers" @JPHornick 🔥🔥

Dropkick Murphys just had an epic moment at their show:
They made a friendly wager with a fan in a MAGA shirt—“Let’s see where it’s made.”
Then they checked his MAGA shirt tag…
Made in Nicaragua.
They swapped it with a Made in America Dropkick Murphys tee.
Legendary.
BREAKING: Packed room for Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP in the Soo in the middle of a snowstorm. It's clear: There's only one party that can take on Doug Ford and win in Northern Ontario—that's the Ontario NDP. Retweet so more voters know!

"Three-quarters of all faculty in the college system are precarious, and do the majority of the teaching in the system...Over the last 10 years, we’ve added almost 100,000 students, but we’ve only added 500 full-time faculty.” #OntEd#OnLab

Year In Review
As we welcome 2025, I’m reflecting on a year filled with creativity, connection, and community. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights:

Weddings: It’s been an honour to help couples celebrate their special day - cheers to all the couples!
A signed card during bargaining is extremely important. Already signed up? Great! Make sure to update any changes to your personal information such as address and banking details. You can do this through the OPSEU/SEFPO member portal.
Unfortunately, college faculty have little say in the system, but we have been warning for years about the dangers of overreliance on international students. The CEC/Colleges have been terrible stewards of the system & the prov. gov't has been a disaster.

“Our college system is crumbling – we can’t sit back and let its failed stewards bulldoze education,” said Michelle Arbour, acting chair of the faculty bargaining team. “Our basic demands are an antidote, aimed at protecting Colleges as places of education, not cash-grabs.”
@CECouncil@CAATfaculty You bargain in bad faith and leave damaging concessions on the table during mediation and you're 'shocked' that faculty are using the only tool they have at their disposal to fight for a fair contract against an intransigent bargaining agent?
Huh.
*MEDIATION BEGINS TODAY*
Now more than ever we need to show some love & support for our college faculty Bargaining Team as they enter mediation (Dec. 6-8) with the College Employer Council.
Stay tuned for updates after mediation concludes!
3/4 of faculty are non-full time workers. They do over half the teaching, contract to contract with ++precarity.
Employment stability helps provides quality learning for students - better for classrooms & our communities where we live & serve🏡🧡

Accepting binding interest arbitration now would mean surrendering the right to strike and relinquishing control over the bargaining process. It's not the right time for binding interest arbitration. Watch this short video to learn more! Special thanks to Local 110. #Solidarity
