“The earth will never be Eden, no matter what we do. But it can be better. And if we can make it better, there isn’t a good reason not to try.” @HalDonaldson, Distruptive Compassion.
On real, authentic friendships: “It’s not a matter of finding it, it truly is a matter of doing the work to build it.” @jessicahonegger on @JennieAllen’s #madeforthispodcast. Such a great truth!
@laalex2 I believe if my husband loved me like Christ loved the church, he would say this more gently. He’d remind me that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and offer help in being healthy, not JUST losing weight. And if I didn’t, he’d pray for me and love me anyways. ❤️
@tracesoffaith Yes Traci!!! My husband and I had been feeling that way for awhile and this winter someone placed that book in our hands. Amazing stuff and it felt like Francis Chan had been a bug on our wall to many conversations! 😂
@JarridWilson I am grateful for this! The first churches in Acts should always be our example. The word and TRUE community and discipleship. I love the local church! ❤️
Hey Twitter friends!! I’d love to connect on Instagram too!! Follow me on https://t.co/ecCZ4CDJ5t and respond to this with your Insta handle so I can follow you too!
There is no destination, dream or personal desire that will ever fill us like an intimate, daily walk with Him.
And the promise of His presence is far sweeter than any “promised land” our hearts may long for.

God didn't just shout His love from heaven, He came here-to us. He showed it on Earth. To really love people, you have to be present in their lives. #community#church#relationships#storyfmchurch
God is good at being God.
We don’t have to try to fix what He hasn’t assigned us to fix. No need to manipulate, control or spend all our emotions trying to figure it out.
We can let Him be God & free ourselves from the impossible assignment of trying to keep it all together.
And having compassion for them. And seeing how can we help?
Jesus didn’t serve those who could further his own agenda, he served those who were helpless. Lost. In need.
Let’s not forget. Let’s BE the church.
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matt 9:35.
How quickly do we forget? How often do we let our own prejudices prevent us from stopping and seeing someone for the person that they are.
