I’m angered. I’m upset. I’m saddened. Why is this okay? Why are we okay with this? I’m not okay with this. This time it wasn’t my husband, but what about next time? I hate there are awful officers. But it’s time we stop lumping them ALL into the “bad” category .
Thank you for all for the texts tonight asking if my husband is okay. The concern tonight was real. He could’ve been the one shot and in the hospital right now. He could’ve been the one fighting for his life right now. I thank God he was not that officer.
The person who was shot in our area this evening is special to so many people. A husband. A father. A son. A brother. A friend. Why are we overlooking this just because he is branded with being a police officer?
I understand there are awful police officers out there, but what about the good ones? Do we just act like they don’t exist? The ones who would do literally anything for anybody? They don’t matter because they are an officer.
This incident tonight gives the slightest glimpse into what I feel most nights when I’m waiting at home for my husband to arrive home, and it angers me at the absolute disrespect people have for police officers.
Turns out birthdays are even better when you have a cute husband to share it with. 😉 Thankful for another year of life and thankful for all of my friends and family who showered me with birthday wishes and sweet messages. 27 might just be my best year yet 💕
@eman_shahin I love this reminder to take a break and practice self care. Between work and school, I tend to forget the importance of slowing down and making sure I’m recharged. It’s so important, yet easy to forget sometimes #506foundations
