The appointment would feel like more of a power move from ownership than anything. I don’t think somebody like Zidane would accept them being so hands-on. They go for Potter who maybe is the best fit for a team in “transition” – but still would adhere to the approach they want.

Potter is a strange one, because it’s really hard to know what the ceiling is. There’s nothing to go off from Potter competing at an ultra competitive level. He’s a good coach, some might say great, but until we see more it’s right to be highly sceptical.

The timing is strange and one I disagree with but the reasoning of the decision itself does have some substance. It was hard to see how much better it was going to get, given everything that has come out today. But you don’t make that decision now – he deserved a few more weeks.

Tuchel does deserve better. Any real fan knows that he does. It still doesn’t dismiss that we have been really average, or worse, for months now – two things can be true at once.

Contacts ongoing between Chelsea and Brighton for Graham Potter, as he’s the priority option — Mauricio Pochettino has been proposed to Todd Boehly as available option in the four-names list. 🚨🔵 #CFC
Talks ongoing — Boehly, on it.
I’m done replying to these now but it says a lot about your IQ when you thought I meant Kante in the discussion
Jorginho “not having a clue” is a complete overstatement though, still doesn’t mean he’s perfect 👍
@Romansbluefc So no mention of defensive awareness, positioning, ability to tackle, intercept, stay disciplined, etc. What was explained is the result of a system designed by Tuchel - it is what he’s asked to do because of his other limitations.
@chelseaconvo You are right. Actually this system of three at the back with double six has been adopted to cover the flaws of our midfielders (except Kante) and defenders (except Silva). Remember this system even made David Luiz seem world-class.
When you talked about defending not just being about flashy tackles etc that is the exact same for possession
Not everything has to be loopy balls over the top or insane ball retention, Rice does simple things well and is adept at driving forward with the ball
@reggaesthetics@raph_delaghetto 100% you’re right but it still doesn’t hurt to have different profiles of players in our squad
Rice is more defensive minded along with Kante, Jorgi and Kovacic can be our specialists on the ball. Will help us to adapt to whatever situation we’re in
