Morning. The last 48 hours of Codex and ChatGPT Work have been intense! Three important updates:

- Temporarily removing the 5 hour usage limit restriction for all Plus, Business and Pro plans
- Rolling out changes that will make GPT 5.6 Sol more efficient across the board and that will be reflected in less usage being used so that it can take you further. Exact impact to be quantified and shared
- We hit 6M active users, and are landing a usage reset in the next hour

Seriously, this has to stop. I've now set GPT-5.6 from high to medium (not fast mode, of course), and I'm still burning through my rates at an insane rate. My 5 hours are almost gone -again.

I've already used up all three resets. OpenAI needs to work on its efficiency. This is the biggest bottleneck.

We do not charge extra above 270k context and the context threshold has been tuned for GPT 5.6 Sol to be perfect at the default limit.

自分の作品を作って世に問うという行為がシンプルに「怖い」ということを認識しているかしてないかで人生変わります

自分自身がクリエイターじゃなくても、クリエイターと関わって仕事をする全ての人に必要な素養です

怖すぎて、わざと雑な仕事をすることで自分を騙すことがあるぐらいです

これは他人から言われた通りにやった仕事だから自分の「我が子」ではない、だからノーダメージだ、と作品に対する愛着の方を捨ててしまうわけです

一般的な企業に所属している平均的なクリエイティブ職の人は大体この状態に陥ります

まぁ、これで給料もらえてるんだし、いっか、と

でも、そんな魂の込められてない仕事には物事を動かす力はありません

結果が出なかったり誰の目にも止まらなかったりで悔しくて涙が出る経験をどれだけ積み重ねたかでそのクリエイターの戦闘力が決まります

一方、他人が作ったものを批評するだけのディレクター的な経験値しかない人は、クリエイターから心の距離を取られて雑な仕事しかしてもらえない人になっていきます

良いディレクターになれるのは第一にクリエイター上がり、第二にEQが高くクリエイターの精神世界に入って同じ土俵で議論できる人、となるのはそのためです

「怖さ」を乗り越えるには、とにかく作って世に出すしかありません。これは自分の作品だ、誰かに言われた通りにやりました、ではなく、自分の魂を込めた作品だ、というものを、誰からも相手されず傷つく覚悟で世の中に出す

それだけがあなたを成長させてくれます

その「怖い」という経験がない、安全な場所から言葉を振り回すだけの人は無視でOKです

I had early access to 5.6/Sol for ~month. Sol is my default. It is faster, plans/judges just as good as Fable, and I think produces better overall work. I’ll reach for Fable still for highly targeted debug or performance work with clear reward functions.

A cheeky way I describe Sol vs Fable to my friends is that Sol is a charismatic, efficient, talented coworker you’re jealous of. Fable is a genius recluse that is brilliant at its fixations but doesn’t go out, doesn’t date, and you don’t want to hang out with them much lol.

Fable is undefeated at highly targeted debug/security/performance goals. It’s a sight to behold and I was never able to get Sol to push as hard in this category. I’ll keep using it for this.

Sol is better or comparable at everything else, in my experience. Give it a shot, it’s hard to describe but it’s just more enjoyable to work with.

CHINA CONSIDERS RESTRICTING OVERSEAS ACCESS TO CUTTING-EDGE AI MODELS

China’s Ministry of Commerce has led meetings over the past month with major AI companies, including Alibaba, ByteDance, and https://t.co/YDe0KRldDB, to discuss measures that would restrict overseas access to cutting-edge AI models, including models that have not yet been released.

The discussions reportedly include not only closed-source models but also open-weight models. However, the scope of application is still under debate, and the rules may ultimately apply only to future frontier models.

Officials have also discussed designating the leakage or theft of proprietary AI technologies as a national security crime, with stronger penalties, as well as restricting the types of foreign capital that can invest in Chinese AI startups.

The backdrop is the U.S. move to strengthen export controls on AI models, along with national security concerns over cutting-edge models that could possess advanced cyberattack capabilities.

Chinese authorities are reportedly concerned that advanced U.S. cybersecurity AI models could be used to exploit vulnerabilities in Chinese software.

Since the beginning of this year, China has continued to tighten measures to prevent AI technology from being transferred overseas. Authorities have investigated whether Chinese AI startups that relocated abroad violated export control laws, while also strengthening oversight of overseas transactions involving Chinese investors, technology, data, and national security concerns.

Future regulations could take the form of a tiered framework based on technological capability. Basic open-source AI models may be managed through a filing system, high-performance models may be subject to security reviews, and the most sensitive frontier models may be banned from public release or restricted to use within China.

すいません、ローカルLLMなら男は黙ってRTXPro6000Blackwellガン積みとか言ってましたが、本当にやらかしたとんでもない野郎が現れました。なんとRTXPro6000Blackwellを5枚とRTX5090を積んでGLM5.2を動かしてしまったらしい。1280万円かかったらしい。問題はここまでやったのにプロンプト処理300～550tps、トークン生成15～40tps程度の速度だったという。15tpsっておせえじゃん。てっきりメモリ帯域幅が爆速なんだから推論はもっと爆速になると思い込んでました。15tpsとかならよお、DGXSparkを4台積んで動かした時と変わらん。RTXPro6000Blackwell万能説崩壊かもしれん。本人曰く、絶対に元取れないのでみんなはやんないでくださいとの事
