Democrats - knock off the stupid ideological food fight. Find someone who can speak articulately about housing and gas costs, corruption, doesn't have a Nazi tattoo, and isn't over 80. It's not that hard.
Evergreen post: He could be impeached tonight and convicted at trial in a few weeks and removed from office immediately thereafter if about 20 people in DC decided to put country over party for the first time in their miserable, self-dealing lives
There is a lot of anger and derision directed at the @USMNT today. I don’t share it. They were outmatched against Belgium but the tournament was far from a failure. Winning with 10 men was a triumph against Bosnia. They looked magical against Paraguay in the opener. They are loaded with talent. It was a hard and disappointing exit but 47 teams will ultimately do the same. Thank you for the ride. @ussoccer
BREAKING: A mother who previously claimed on RFK Jr.‘s Children’s Health Defense podcast that vaccines killed her 18-month-old twins has now been charged with their murders.
People will think I'm crazy for this take, but I'm a big believer in the psychological impact of narratives on teams. Yes, Belgium looked so much better tonight and we looked lost. But this team had a boatload of good vibes behind them, and in the last 48 hours that vanished, and replacing it was a story of implicit political corruption that turned them into the bad guys, or at least the beneficiary of the corruption. You can't tell me that doesn't put pressure on the team, change the vibe, and take a psychological toll that impacted what happened on the field. American fans, serious and casual, should be pissed at this interference. We overturned a red card and our reward was losing what made this team so much fun until now.
Do not blame Balogun for this outcome.
He did not complain about the red card.
He shook the ref's hand.
He said that he wanted to be a good role model for kids.
Most other players whine on every single foul called.
Balogun showed class and I am a lifetime fan.
Donald Trump had no choice but to get Balogun reinstated. He’s a birthright citizen and The Supreme Court just ruled we can’t take away their citizenship or give them red cards. Blame the liberal judges.
This is ridiculous. Balogun shouldn't have been sent off.
But the idea that the White House is devoting more effort to strong-arming FIFA than it has to reducing housing and healthcare costs is revolting.
And the fact that by intervening, Trump may end up tarnishing the team he is purporting to help (not to mention our nation and international sport) only illustrates his narcissism, arrogance, and imbecility.
But here we are.
The World Cup was going so well for the U.S. People from all over the world were posting positive things about our country. Trump ruins all of that good will in an instant.
