Phil Rogers, CEO of Embracer Group, has elaborated more on his idea regarding the revival of dormant IPs like Deus Ex through external collaborations.
“We can’t work on everything ourselves... We could find other teams who say, ‘I’ve got this idea’, ‘I’ve got a treatment.’ This happens in other entertainment forms, right? You get treatments, and you work on that basis. Whether it’s remakes, remasters, a new treatment or an adaptation in some way.”

Art director on Obsession making $300 a day is crazy. That is L O W in Los Angeles for positions that REPORT to the art director. I started at $400 a day 9 years ago and rates have gone back down since 2020 but they haven't gotten to $300 for AD low.
In the USA, the level of vigilance the average person has to maintain to avoid getting ripped off extracts its own kind of price -- one most analysis of dynamic pricing doesn't pay any attention to.
Harada and Nakastu left Bandai Namco Studios due to greed and terrible treatment of staff. In 2024, A whistleblower exposed the work conditions BNE created after making the decision to cut staff. At the same time, Harada began expressing frustration with BNE focusing on profits over passion
❗️Whistleblower 2024 leak press:
“BNE wanted to downsize their gaming studios to cut cost so they ended work from home and fired the employees who couldn’t come back immediately. Due to the sudden mandatory return to work, there weren't enough seats, so people had to cram in, resulting in many floors experiencing oxygen deprivation. The contracts of temporary employees were terminated, permanent employees were sent to a department known as the "dismissal department," where they were given no work but their performance evaluations were lowered to encourage voluntary resignation. They rummage through past events and PC logs to find faults, investigate employees' PC logs and work performance over several years, and if there is even the slightest mistake, use that as an excuse to fire them saying, "I committed problematic behavior in the past, so I have no future at the company going forward." They also spread negative reviews about employees whose resignations have been confirmed to other companies. Employees whose resignation has been confirmed are contacted with messages such as "You should not associate with a person named (partially modified)," obstructing their transfer to other companies.”
❗️Harada’s post from 2024:
“As games have become a major industry, many stakeholders have emerged. There are more and more "self-proclaimed game industry people" and executives who are not creators, do not even have development experience, and do not directly face the voices from the fan community. Come to think of it, it seems like every year there are more and more people who, when I try to do something with an idea, tell me, "Don't do it just because of an idea or passion. I've done a lot of things with an idea, and that's why we have the foundation we have today, but I guess people who don't have experience in making things don't understand that. Well, that is how mature this field has become.
❗️Harada in 2024 IGN interview:
“If you’re worried that Jun’s appearance means Harada isn’t thinking about throwing her son (or anyone else) into a volcano, think again: “The first people that came to mind were perhaps certain executives at our company," Harada says. "They change quite frequently and some of them are only interested in obtaining the highest profits possible to further their careers, and they have no regard for development schedules or brand timelines. So some of them quickly flashed into my head. But if I had to think and I had to pick a Tekken character, it’s tough because most of them would probably survive if we look at past instances.””
BREAKING: We now know the municipal/provincial and federal lobbyists behind the Billy Bishop airport expansion in Toronto is Nieuport Aviation, an asset among many, controlled by the IIG which was founded by JP Morgan. Yes, an AMERICAN bank is trying to destroy our waterfront.
He’s presenting this like IOI is sending the key to him personally when all you have to do is apply for it via sites like keymailer (First Light is offered through their program right now). This is disingenuous language and not how this works at all.
But here's the thing, I can not find any evidence that any of the many lobbyists working on behalf of Nieuport in Toronto and Ottawa have ever disclosed that ownership and control. And that appears to violate both Ontario and federal lobbying laws. https://t.co/gOexIUSwbx
Nieuport says it is owned by "institutional investors advised by JP Morgan Chase Asset Management." But it has never told anyone, including me, who those institutional investors are. That may be because, practically, speaking, Nieuport's ownership is a lot simpler than it sounds.
Did you know tons of dark money runs through ONE law firm in the Bay Area supporting corporate-backed LA candidates?
Nielsen Merksamer is a nexus of dark money, like the Airbnb PACs, the “mysterious” Neighbors First and Vibrant LA groups, and is trying to dominate LA politics.
I still don’t have words to describe my hate and heartbreak over Michael Govan tearing down the original LACMA buildings by my favorite architect William Pereira for some bullshit building that is 40% of the original gallery space, and cost LA taxpayers (you 🫵🏼) $117.5 million
The more I see LLMs being used for personal development, the more worried I get. I did a quick informal experiment now about intelligence.
In the first chat I asked Gemini if it could give me some iq test problems and if it could judge my iq based on that. After solving only a few simple problems, Gemini was very happy to announce I was most likely in the 130+ camp. Wow this is great news.
In the second chat, I asked it similar questions but I got most of the problems wrong. When I asked it to judge my IQ, it refused to give me a number but still praised my intelligence even though I’d failed the problems.
I can’t even imagine how this affects someone who believes the “kind” comforts it tells you.
The screenshot is from the second chat and it’s straight up lying to me to make me feel better.
Course correcting on such a large project and in a public manner is never easy. It takes a lot of strength, reflection and consideration to do so.
It is always a good decision to step away from an exploitative industry, even tho it can be difficult. Thank you, Jorge.
My personal experience with AI is that most of the gen AI companies have offered me buckets of money (house money!) to publicly endorse their tools and claim they are central to my creativity (have turned them all down).
What's interesting is that there are SO many people who are hyped about these tools who should be getting the bag instead of me. So all I can gather is that these companies are throwing money around to control the story about who their tools are for. Seems like they'll pay anything to have non-AI folks endorse the AI tools.
