Update: Thai police have now obtained an arrest warrant.

A Pattaya court has approved a warrant for Gaopeng Gong, a 38 yr old Chinese national, in the abduction and robbery of a Chinese female real estate agent in Nong Prue, Chonburi, Thailand. Police say he posed as a homebuyer, threatened the victim with a knife, forced a transfer of 6,966 yuan, and bound her with tape before attempting to flee in her Mercedes Benz.

The escape ended after the car crashed and the suspect fled on foot, leaving the woman taped up inside. Authorities say he is still believed to be in Thailand and remains at large.
