Imagine if while folks at the @DNC spoke about signing a law to protect a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions, it included trans women.

Respectfully, you have a lot more to learn about gender - for ex, that women have vastly different experiences for many reasons. Difference doesn’t make them less of a woman.

Biology is diverse, bodies are diverse, life experiences are diverse. I understand folks still need a lot of education around this, but honestly, it exists and is accessible. There are no excuses at this point.

Trans people are always excluded bc “not everyone is ready”. I just think it’s fascinating/sad to see so much fire for women’s health when it only means certain women.

So, @SWBNewOrleans upgraded my meter & simultaneously sent sludge into my house. The next two months they claimed I used ~40,000 gallons of water/mo. Now they claim I have a leak + it’s my fault. Has anyone had SWBNO break your plumbing and gotten them to fix it? My bill is wild.

I’ll be voting for Harris in November — while encouraging my circles to do the same *and* continuing to try to change the systems that got us here.

Stay aware but focused on what we are actually fighting for: life, families, the land, culture, our farm practices, potlucks, tomato festivals, bonfires, chewing on cane, crawfish holes, running through tobacco, ditches, the room where Paw Paw was born. That's what moves people.

Just my regular reminder that the term "Cancer Alley" originated in the Northeast and was popularized for Louisiana's River Parishes by people who aren't from here.

Leaving the first #LADisasterLawSummit feeling better prepared and more affirmed in our commitment to resource our most vulnerable folks through another storm season. Queer, trans, disabled, BIPOC, elderly, non-English speaking neighbors deserve skilled care through storms too.

Folks pushed to the margins are always left more vulnerable—the systems for relief/recovery are simply not built for them (us!) to navigate. We’re leaving today even more grounded in our purpose & the need for our work, led by natives w/intersecting identities, across coastal LA.
