The Royal College of Nursing (RCN), representing more than half a million nurses and healthcare workers in the #UK, has terminated its commercial partnership with "#Teva UK", the British arm of the Israeli pharmaceutical company Teva. As part of the decision, Teva was also removed from the sponsor list for the organization's professional conference scheduled to take place in London at the end of this month. The decision followed campaigns by "Nurses for #Palestine" and "UK Health Workers Petitions to Royal Colleges," which demanded severing ties with the company.

Chair of the RCN Council, Carmel O'Boyle, stated that further due diligence revealed that certain activities of Teva were subject to legal sanctions and public scrutiny that are inconsistent with the organization's values. Among other things, Teva was fined €462.6 million in 2024 by the European Commission for abusing its dominant market position regarding the drug Copaxone, and in recent years has also paid fines in the U.S. in price-fixing and bribery cases. Teva responded stating it was disappointed by the decision and argued that there is no place for the "politicization of healthcare".

The organizations promoting the move also alleged ties between Teva and the IDF, presenting the decision as an achievement in the broader campaign to sever commercial ties with Israeli companies.

איגוד האחיות הבריטי המייצג יותר מחצי מיליון אחיות ואנשי סיעוד ב #בריטניה, הפסיק את השותפות המסחרית עם הזרוע הבריטית של חברת ה #תרופות הישראלית "#טבע", "#Teva UK". במסגרת ההחלטה הוסרה טבע גם מרשימת נותני החסות של כנס מקצועי של הארגון שאמור להתקיים בלונדון בסוף החודש. ההחלטה התקבלה בעקבות הקמפיינים של "אחיות למען #פלסטין" ו"עצומות עובדי מערכת הבריאות בבריטניה לקולג'ים המלכותיים", שדרשו לנתק את הקשרים עם החברה.

יו"ר מועצת איגוד האחיות, כרמל או'בויל, מסרה כי בדיקת נאותות נוספת העלתה כי פעילויות מסוימות של טבע היו נתונות לסנקציות משפטיות ולביקורת ציבורית שאינן עולות בקנה אחד עם ערכי הארגון. בין היתר "טבע" נקנסה ב-2024 ב-462.6 מיליון אירו על ידי הנציבות האירופית בגין ניצול לרעה של מעמדה בשוק סביב התרופה "קופקסון", ובשנים האחרונות שילמה גם קנסות בארה"ב בפרשות של תיאום מחירים ושוחד. "טבע" מסרה בתגובה כי היא מאוכזבת מההחלטה וטענה כי אין מקום ל"פוליטיזציה של שירותי הבריאות".

הארגונים שקידמו את המהלך טענו גם לקשרים בין טבע לבין צה"ל, והציגו את ההחלטה כהישג בקמפיין הרחב לניתוק קשרים מסחריים עם חברות ישראליות.

Arab reports indicate that the individual killed in the targeted strike in Deir al-Balah is Saqr al-Qaisi, director of the Turkish humanitarian aid organization "Deniz Feneri".

Representatives of the Turkish organization previously participated in a meeting with Ismail Haniyeh, alongside other Turkish civil society organizations. Furthermore, the organization operates within civil systems in #Gaza and collaborates with local elements in the Strip.

Additionally, "Deniz Feneri" is a member of the Filistin Destek Platformu. Individuals associated with this organization have previously hosted #Hamas representatives and expressed support for the organization.

נציגי הארגון הטורקי השתתפו בעבר במפגש עם איסמעיל הנייה, לצד ארגוני חברה אזרחית טורקיים נוספים. בנוסף, הארגון פעיל בתוך המערכות האזרחיות בעזה ומשתף פעולה עם גורמים מקומיים ברצועה.

בנוסף, "דניז פינרי" חברה בארגון Filistin Destek Platformu. אנשים הקשורים לארגון זה אירחו בעבר נציגי #חמאס והביעו תמיכה בארגון.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas #Araghchi stated today during a meeting with foreign ambassadors and diplomats in #Tehran that Iran continues to operate simultaneously on both the military and diplomatic fronts. According to him, if the enemies of the Islamic Republic choose military confrontation once again, they will receive a "harsher response than before", whereas if they choose a diplomatic route, Tehran is prepared to reach a "just, honorable, and diplomatic solution" to end the war. Araghchi added that there is no military solution to the crisis and that additional sanctions will likewise yield no results.

Araghchi further stated that all conditions set by his country for reopening the #StraitOfHormuz align with the obligations that he claimed the #USA is required to undertake. He called on Washington to choose the "path of wisdom and logic", but warned that if the U.S. returns to the military option, #Iran is "more prepared than ever" and will take all necessary steps for its defense.

Araghchi also addressed U.S. reports claiming that the Iranian delegation was expelled from the U.S., asserting that the delegation returned to Iran according to its pre-scheduled timeline. According to him, the mere raising of this claim by Washington demonstrates both a violation of its obligations as UN host and American dissatisfaction with the presence of the Iranian delegation. Earlier, he stated that during the visit to New York he met with 42 foreign ministers, while the Iranian President met with ten leaders.

שר החוץ האיראני, עבאס עראקצ'י, הצהיר היום בפגישה עם שגרירים ודיפלומטים זרים בטהרן כי #איראן ממשיכה לפעול במקביל בזירה הצבאית והדיפלומטית. לדבריו, אם אויבי הרפובליקה האסלאמית יבחרו שוב בעימות צבאי, הם יקבלו "תגובה קשה יותר מבעבר", בעוד שאם יבחרו במסלול דיפלומטי טהרן מוכנה להגיע ל"פתרון צודק, מכובד ודיפלומטי" שיביא לסיום המלחמה. עראקצ'י הוסיף כי אין פתרון צבאי למשבר וכי גם #סנקציות נוספות לא יובילו לתוצאה.

עראקצ'י התייחס גם לדיווחים אמריקניים שלפיהם המשלחת האיראנית גורשה מארה"ב, וטען כי המשלחת שבה לאיראן בהתאם ללוח הזמנים שנקבע מראש. לדבריו, עצם העלאת הטענה מצד וושינגטון מעידה הן על הפרת מחויבויותיה כמארחת האו"ם והן על חוסר שביעות הרצון האמריקני מנוכחות המשלחת האיראנית. מוקדם יותר מסר כי במהלך הביקור בניו יורק הוא נפגש עם 42 שרי חוץ, בעוד הנשיא האיראני נפגש עם עשרה מנהיגים.

Iranian Parliament Speaker #MohammadQalibaf declared that Tehran will not agree to reopen the #StraitOfHormuz until the conditions it set within the framework of understandings with the #US are fulfilled.

According to Qalibaf, Iran conveyed its demands to Washington through mediators, clarifying that as long as #Iran's rights are not recognized and American commitments are not implemented, there will be no return to the previous negotiation format and full reopening of the strait will not be permitted.

Qalibaf emphasized that the Islamic Republic sees no contradiction between military action and negotiations, and that from its perspective, it can deploy force on the ground while simultaneously utilizing diplomacy to anchor its achievements and secure its demands. "The winner at the negotiation table is the one who has prepared himself for war", stated the Parliament Speaker.

#Iran's Minister of Economy and Finance, Ali Madanizadeh, dismissed statements made by #US Treasury Secretary #ScottBessent regarding an anticipated economic collapse in the Islamic Republic. In a media interview, Madanizadeh noted that for years predictions have been made claiming the Iranian economy would collapse within two weeks or a month, declaring: "This will certainly not happen".

He further argued that the U.S. remarks were intended to generate public pressure, trigger a run on the currency market, and drive up foreign exchange rates. According to him, these statements are useless, and the government will not allow such a scenario to materialize.

This response from #Tehran followed comments by Bessent in a late-September Fox News interview, in which he claimed that within about two weeks Iran would complete its remaining oil shipments to China, leaving it with nothing left to trade.

שר הכלכלה והאוצר של #איראן, עלי מדני-זאדה, דחה את דברי שר האוצר האמריקני #סקוט_בסנט בנוגע לקריסה כלכלית צפויה ברפובליקה האסלאמית. בראיון לתקשורת אמר מדני-זאדה כי במשך שנים נשמעות תחזיות שלפיהן ה #כלכלה האיראנית תקרוס בתוך שבועיים או חודש, והצהיר: "זה בהחלט לא יקרה".

עוד הוא טען כי ההתבטאויות האמריקניות נועדו לעורר לחץ בציבור, לגרום להסתערות על שוק המטבע ולהעלות את שערי המטבעות הזרים. לדבריו, אין בהן תועלת, והממשלה לא תאפשר לתרחיש הזה להתממש.

Representatives of the #Hezbollah terrorist organization and senior Syrian intelligence and Foreign Ministry officials met secretly in #Turkey in September, in an attempt to reduce tensions between them. According to reports, this is the first known meeting between the Lebanese Shiite organization and the al-Golani regime. The meeting was initiated by Turkish security and intelligence agencies.

According to a Syrian source, #Damascus promised not to intervene militarily in #Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah. In return, the Syrians asked the terrorist organization to help stop cross-border smuggling and dismantle its sleeper cells, particularly in southern #Syria. Hezbollah representatives did not respond directly to the requests, but committed not to interfere in Damascus's affairs.

A Lebanese security source stated that progress was made on security issues, but no final agreement was reached. According to the source, Iran was aware of the meeting but was disappointed not to have participated directly - which was the main reason for the lack of an agreement.

A farewell ceremony was held yesterday in #Gaza City for the #remains of 105 residents retrieved from the rubble of the Al-Taj residential complex in the Al-#Yarmouk area. According to the city's Civil Defense, the search and rescue operations at the site lasted 17 days and were conducted in cooperation with the Egyptian committee.

The ceremony took place within the complex grounds with the participation of the victims families. A correspondent for the Turkish Anadolu Agency present at the scene reported that the remains were placed in shrouds bearing identification tags. The #funeral procession will depart today toward the Sheikh Radwan cemetery.

The Al-Taj Tower and three surrounding buildings were destroyed in an Israeli strike toward the end of October 2023. According to local reports, approximately 20 bombs were dropped at the site.

Al-Jazeera reported that among the dead were 47 children and 32 women.

טקס הפרידה התקיים בשטח המתחם בהשתתפות משפחות ההרוגים. כתב סוכנות אנאדולו הטורקית שנכח במקום דיווח שהשרידים הונחו בתכריכים ועליהם כרטיסי זיהוי. מסע ה #הלוויה ייצא היום לכיוון בית העלמין שייח' רדואן.

מגדל א-תאג' ושלושת המבנים סביבו נהרסו בתקיפה ישראלית לקראת סוף חודש אוקטובר 2023. על פי דיווחים מקומיים, הוטלו במקום כ-20 פצצות.

רשת אל-ג'זירה דיווחה כי בין ההרוגים ישנם 47 ילדים ו-32 נשים.
