Hello, PI pioneers from around the world.
I am Mei-Ling Chen, a Ph.D. researcher in Stanford AI studies.
I have been assisting Pi Network with AI development and management, while also contributing to the optimization of AI technologies for KYC verification and the continuous improvement of the AI ecosystem.
As the Pi ecosystem approaches a more complete and interconnected stage, I feel that it is time to meet everyone.
Pi has been with us for 7 years. Thank you all for your continuous support, patience, and dedication. Pi is a massive ecosystem, and each of us is contributing and fighting for our place within it.
Everyone deserves to achieve the success they have worked for.
Grateful for this journey, and grateful that we met.
Your Wallet Could Be Useless by 2036—Not Because Money Is Dead, but Because the World Has Changed
The headline spreading across social media says, "Money won't matter by 2036." It grabs attention, but it also creates the wrong impression.
Most people read it and think, "So money will have no value anymore?"
That's probably not what's being suggested.
A better way to look at it is this: money will still matter, but paper money may not. The real shift is happening in how value moves through the economy.
Think about how far we've already come. A generation ago, people carried cash for almost everything. Today, millions pay with their phones, smartwatches, or QR codes. In many places, you can go an entire day without touching a single banknote.
Now imagine another ten years of progress.
Artificial intelligence is becoming more capable. Robots are moving into factories, warehouses, hospitals, and even homes. Cars are learning to drive themselves. Businesses are automating tasks that once required large teams of people.
These systems won't stop what they're doing because they need to count paper notes.
They'll exchange value digitally, in real time.
Imagine your electric vehicle arriving at a charging station, paying automatically, and leaving without you opening an app. A smart factory notices it's running low on materials and places an order instantly. A delivery drone pays for charging or airspace access on its own before continuing its route.
None of those situations work with physical cash.
They depend on fast, digital payment systems that computers can understand and use without human involvement.
That's why the discussion isn't really about the end of money. It's about the next stage of money.
History shows this isn't unusual. Money has always adapted to new technology. We moved from barter to coins, from coins to paper currency, from paper to bank accounts, from bank cards to mobile payments. Digital money is simply another step in that long journey.
People will still earn salaries. They'll still buy food, pay rent, invest, and save. Those parts of life aren't disappearing. What's changing is the technology behind the transaction.
Paper currency has practical limits. It has to be printed, transported, stored, protected, and physically exchanged. That works for people. It doesn't work for billions of connected devices making decisions every second.
The economy of the future won't be built only by humans. AI systems, robots, autonomous vehicles, and smart infrastructure will all become active participants. Those systems need payments that are instant, programmable, and available around the clock.
That's where digital payment networks—and in some cases blockchain technology—become important. They allow value to move as quickly as information moves across the internet.
Whether the future runs on blockchain, central bank digital currencies, traditional banking networks, or a combination of all three is still an open question. Different countries and companies will likely take different approaches.
What seems much more likely is that digital transactions will become the default for many parts of the economy.
So perhaps the headline should be rewritten.
It isn't "Money won't matter by 2036."
It's "The form of money may change so much that paper cash becomes the exception, not the rule."
That doesn't make money less valuable.
It makes speed, automation, and digital connectivity the new standard for exchanging value.
No one can predict exactly what 2036 will look like. Technology rarely follows a straight line. But one trend is already visible: every year, the world becomes a little less dependent on physical cash and a little more connected through digital payments.
If that continues, the biggest financial change of the next decade won't be that money disappears.
It will be that your wallet stays in your pocket while the digital economy keeps moving without it.
🚨🚨🚨PI NETWORK NEWS: 🚨 Pi Network Official Node Upgrade Status Updated – Only One Final Step Remains
On July 23, 2026, the Pi Core Team updated the Quick Reference for Upgrade Status, confirming that the Mainnet infrastructure upgrade roadmap has reached another major milestone.
According to the latest official documentation, all scheduled protocol upgrades from Protocol 19.1 through Protocol 25.2 have been completed successfully. Only one final upgrade step remains before the roadmap is fully completed.
✅ Current Official Upgrade Status
The completed upgrade path is as follows:
✅ Protocol 19.1 → 19.6
✅ Protocol 19.6 → 19.9
✅ Protocol 19.9 → 20.2
✅ Protocol 20.2 → 21.2
✅ Protocol 21.2 → 22.1
✅ Protocol 22.1 → 23.0
✅ Protocol 23.0 → 24.1
✅ Protocol 24.1 → 25.2
⛔ Final Step
Protocol 25.2 → 26.0
Status: DO NOT START (TBD)
The Pi Core Team has clearly instructed Node Operators not to begin upgrading to Protocol 26.0 until an official announcement is released.
What Does This Mean?
This update demonstrates that Pi Network has steadily executed its long-term infrastructure migration over the past several months.
Each protocol upgrade has introduced improvements including:
- Enhanced blockchain stability
- Database migration and optimization
- Improved Mainnet performance
- Better compatibility with the latest Stellar protocol
- Stronger foundation for future ecosystem features
With Protocol 25.2 now successfully deployed across the network, the blockchain appears to be entering the final preparation stage before Protocol 26.
------
Protocol V25 Brings Modern Blockchain Capabilities
The recently released Protocol V25 is more than a routine software update.
It introduces several advanced technologies, including:
- BN254 cryptography support
- Poseidon Hash functions
- Infrastructure for Zero-Knowledge (ZK) applications
- Enhanced privacy capabilities
- Improved smart contract readiness
These technologies are widely adopted across modern Web3 ecosystems and strengthen Pi Network's foundation for future decentralized applications.
------
Important Reminder for Node Operators
If you operate a Pi Mainnet Node:
✅ Keep your node updated to Protocol 25.2.
✅ Continue running your node normally.
❌ Do NOT attempt to upgrade to Protocol 26.0.
⏳ Wait for the official instruction from the Pi Core Team before taking any action.
------
Looking Ahead
The fact that only one upgrade step remains is an encouraging sign that Pi Network's infrastructure modernization is approaching completion.
While the Pi Core Team has not announced a release date for Protocol 26, today's update indicates that the network is carefully progressing through its final planned migration stage.
As always, the community should rely on official announcements rather than speculation regarding future milestones.
Patience and following official guidance remain the best approach for every Pioneer and Node Operator.

🚨 BREAKING: DEX PREPARATION IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY ON THE PI BLOCKCHAIN! 🚨
Spotted something on the explorer that is not just a test transaction someone has placed a buy order on the order book at a specific price. 🤩
This is not a transfer. This is not a random payment.
What I found:
🔹 manage_buy_offer — a buy order placed on the order book at a specific price
🔹 liquidity_pool_deposit — adding liquidity to the pool
🔹 invoke_host_function — smart contract logic being triggered
🔹 Tokens like SLICE, IRRA, and Test-Pi flowing through swaps
🔹 Multiple order book operations in the last 60 seconds this is not random
What this means:
📊 The order book is live. Someone is placing buy orders, and the automated market maker is adjusting accordingly. This is how real trading feels on testnet, but real.
🎯 The engine is being tested. The DEX is almost ready.
The coming weeks could be historic. 🌊
