@Micha_Siegel You didn't answer the question, but I'm leaning more CPA than EA if baked goods can influence your quality of client care. High points for funny answer.
@Micha_Siegel Let's try a test question to see: a B&B needs to allocate expenses between personal/business, the default method is square footage, but there's one owner and an average of 12 guests. How do you allocate the following: Interest, electricity, insurance, toilet paper?
@LorilynWilson @DerekKuns@circlecrules@SpencerHakimian@ApexMetal@grok So I concur with you, but want to clarify a few items. Tax brackets are progressive, The bonus depr % is unknown but hard to see $500k first year from a cost seg study, and PAL/REP N/A if it's an active hotel/motel/Airbnb on Sch C. Excess Biz Loss and Interest limits may apply.
@loganallec Honestly, I'm thinking they'd be good with tax returns. It's not always what you say but also what you don't say that avoids audits. Now, if they lied about their GPA, advise them to go into politics instead.
@MikeSyl36625988 I think your explanation is true, but that it's missing a large and critical element: the youth vote. They had zero enthusiasm to come out and vote between two geriatrics. Now, they have a candidate they can support. They're also less likely to vote along party lines.
@MikeSyl36625988 I think the problems merely change, but are less. For example in accounting software we now have to manage downloaded transactions from the bank, which is a new pain point with totally new challenges. However, it's still better than manually keying them all in.
@MikeSyl36625988 Hmm...my first thought is that private equity buying tax and consulting CPA firms will likely be another in a long string of failures for them. It'll take awhile, but this is a relationship based business, not a brand based business.
@moethecpa I would think you should be able to see from realization rates and billable hours that there's a problem. Actually tying them to a big brother mechanism would be detrimental for finding their replacements IMHO. I wouldn't work under those conditions for example.
