@PostTripleR @BrockHuard @Mariners After ‘95, ‘97 was hardly enjoyable, similar slog, I watched every game, Kingdome averaged 40k+. Were on the cover of all mags preseason, projecting 100+ and barely won 90, and sucrificed the future. Point - not to be a prisoner of the moment. Will be better in 2027 :)

@PostTripleR @BrockHuard @Mariners That 90 were hollow, with what happened in the playoffs and utter disintegration in 1998… ‘97 trades cost M’s guys that would have kept them in contention in 98 and 99… 10 years from now ‘97 will still be a greater miss to me than 2026, especially considering all the injuries

@SeattleSports Arod was a great player, loved watching him play, people see him being disingenuous… why fib about being sent down 5 times to AAA in 1995(was 3), lie about being offered QB at Miami (no), make up nonsense on quitting baseball when he hit .350 in AAA in 1995…people smell a phony

@Mitch_Seattle You are absolutely right Mitch, but as you may also remember, it was the way Alex approached the negotiations is what created a negative reaction. He constantly implied that it was not about the money, that he loved Seattle, etc. People smelled and reacted to him being a phony.
