I just opened a mystery book package that I got from the fabulous Curious Cat bookshop in Frodsham and I’m delighted with this from @deathbybadger
Musings of an antiquarian bookseller from Manchester; a place I called home for many happy years!
Can’t wait to get stuck in! 📚
For the #twitterbakealong#showusyourbakes - although it isn’t strictly the actual challenge this week - I’ve made my first half cake using @SarahsSliceBlog gingerbread latté loaf cake recipe.
It’s a ginger based cake with a coffee buttercream and a dusting of cinnamon sugar.
Hot chocolate orange cupcakes for a charity bake sale our friend is having this week for the YMCA - and for the #twitterbakealong!
A moist chocolate cake, chocolate orange buttercream with melted chocolate orange and topped with mini marshmallows and a chocolate drizzle.
Baking for the #twitterbakealong that’s both festive and friendly on the waistline!
Streusel pear mince pies - a light shortcrust pastry case filled with a mix of mincemeat, chopped pear, cinnamon, ginger and topped with a crumble mix of butter @CotswoldFlour and 5g hazelnuts.
It’s my birthday today so for the #twitterbakealong with @cotswoldflour I’ve made @janespatisserie chocolate orange loaf cake
It’s a moist chocolate cake with melted and chopped chocolate orange in the sponge and the buttercream.
Decorated with chocolate orange slices! 🎂
First go at making the now infamous brownie yule log for #twitterbakealong & @CotswoldFlour
Made to @janespatisserie recipe for triple chocolate brownies, with white chocolate ganache, covered with a rich chocolate buttercream frosting, it was absolutely delicious with a cuppa!
Some festive baking for the #twitterbakealong today and always a crowd pleaser - sausage rolls.
These are filled with mince pie stuffing balls from @AldiUK and finished with an egg yolk wash and some black onion seeds.
They were a lot of fun to make and were delicious!
Remember remember the 3rd November, the first time I ever made Parkin!
I made this baked Parkin for the #twitterbakealong and decorated it with a lemon icing on which turned out to be a great pairing!
We’ll enjoy a piece with a cuppa on Bonfire Night - if they last that long!
A delicious recipe from @SarahsSliceBlog this week - Parkin biscuits!
We’re off to Liverpool tomorrow to see the family, so we’re taking these over to enjoy with them over a cuppa. My father-in-law is a Yorkshireman - hope he likes them!
