@apsmunro@BQuilty@ProfGRoberts My worry with this non IgE CMPA “epidemic” is these infants are then not been exposed to any cow’s milk protein in the crucial early weaning period where tolerance develops- so yes we may then see an increase in IgE milk allergy with time
@apsmunro@BQuilty@ProfGRoberts As @ProfGRoberts mentioned- very early exposure to a normal cow’s milk formula in the first week of life (and then going on to breastfeed) has been associated with later IgE cow’s milk allergy (early exposure= sensitization event).
Pleasure to present our upcoming paper on ‘the EAACI Teen Toolbox’ to help implement effective transition #eaacimca22 Lots of helpful resources out there! @EAACI_JM@ProfGRoberts@BSACI_Allergy Great practical learning today
@LilMixins@VenterCarina@DrDougMackMD@ATLergist Great question! Not come across any reported reactions in allergic breastfeeding mums in our centre @UHSFT . I’d recommend simple measures are taken- carefully wipe baby’s hands and face, leave some time before breastfeeding them
