For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter.
AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country.
Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty.
The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.

london taught me speed. brussels taught me diligence. moscow taught me resilience. scandinavia taught me design. puglia is teaching me something none of them could: that I don't need to be productive to be valuable. that sitting on stone steps eating bread and oil at 3pm is a legitimate use of a human life. I rejected this kind of slowness for twenty years. called it laziness. turned out to be the thing I was looking for.
Midtown Atlanta, served by three heavy rail stations, is one of America's most successful examples of TOD.
25k people have moved into the district since 2000 w/ pop. density approaching New York City.
Turns out Sun Belt cities can change fast with trains under tall buildings.
“It is very important to go out alone, to sit under a tree—not with a book, not with a companion, but by yourself—and observe the falling of a leaf, hear the lapping of the water, the fishermen’s song, watch the flight of a bird, and of your own thoughts as they chase each other across the space of your mind. If you are able to be alone and watch these things, then you will discover extraordinary riches which no government can tax, no human agency can corrupt, and which can never be destroyed.”

My neighbor is 84 and lost his wife last year. He has no kids and I noticed he stopped cooking and barely turned his lights on. He was just fading away. So now, every single night when I cook dinner for my family, I make an extra plate and walk it over. We sit on his porch for 20 minutes and just talk. He told me yesterday that our little chats are the only reason he gets out of bed. It costs me nothing but a little food and time, but it means the world to him.
Please, read books. Not just captions, or carousel posts, or what made it to the top of your feed. Read books. Long ones. Complex ones. You cannot build a mind with weight on the back of social media ephemerals. Intellectual depth demands patience.
There's a big misconception that once you have money life is suddenly easier.
Having money comes with a different set of problems on a bigger scale.
Once you get rich, you never want to go back to being poor. You have to fight harder each day to ensure you never fall back into poverty.
Once you have money, everyone around you WANTS a piece. Family and friends will ask for a loan. People will want you to invest in their businesses and others just want handouts.
Being able to differentiate true friends from fake ones starts to become blurry. Your ego can trick you into thinking that everyone is a real friend when in reality you'll truly only make a handful of real friends in your entire life.
Paranoia becomes your closest friend. In the world of business if you have a superior product, everyone will try and copy you. People will screw you over to get to the top. It's your job to stay on your toes and ensure you stay ahead of all the competitors in an honorable and respectable way.
Happiness and wealth come in different forms. Not everyone is meant to become financially rich. Think about this when you're living your life. Everyone reading this has many blessings. Appreciate and honor them.
Some people have it ten times worse than you.
