Did chess help you in any way? Do you still play? Do your children play chess too?

And more children should be taught how to do that!
I have places at this club in Herne Hill SE24 on Tuesdays.

Children can improve at playing chess quite easily. By joining a junior chess club they will lean and play with other children and have more fun. They will also become more confident and continue to have another go.
Learning to play chess can be so much fun for children with a growth mindset. Children with a fixed mindset however, can also enjoy chess but they have to learn that losing is all part of the fun of learning to play better.
Key steps to take to help your child learn how to play chess:
♟Ask them if they would like to
♟Check for local junior clubs
♟Speak to the Coach directly
♟Ask about times and cost
♟Make sure the Coach is crazy and will engage your child's mind
Step 5 is really important!

Learning to play chess can be a lot of fun for children with a growth mindset. Children with a fixed mindset can also enjoy chess but they have to understand that losing games is all part of learning how to play better.
January 2020 is approaching rather quickly and around this time I usually start asking whether your child or children you know are ready to start learning to play chess?
Chess is just a simple board game and children that play usually develop the ability to explore their ideas. Chess also helps children to believe they can do it when they try harder.
