@charboken@0rfevree@TheSashaExpress Yeah its weak if you play by yourself in public lobbies. If you can get 5+ friends in a private lobby, its genuinely a top gaming experience that easily surpasses story mode.
@reacher_chud @Eduardopto@0ba0sama lmao what did I do? Calling me miserable when I’m just trying to understand better. It actually sounds like you and OP have no idea what you’re talking about. The example you gave has nothing to do with the original comment.
@mangolorian117@tamborhuevoso@pizza990 “they are literally using the same engines they use in games which is why it looks so shit” Im saying that yes the do use it… for virtual production and rarely (almost never) for final VFX, but it is NOT the reason bad VFX look like shit. Make sense?
@mangolorian117@tamborhuevoso@pizza990 You’re missing the point… UE is not the main reason for bad looking VFX. Even when UE is used for final VFX, it can still sometimes look as good as if it came from Arnold, Renderman, Vray, etc. The problem is not UE, but the time the artists are given.
@marcnguyenart@pizza990 Yeah Ive seen that quote, but Gore Verbinski, who was a VFX artists like 35 years ago, has no idea what hes talking about. Maya and Houdini are still the standard. The driving issue is the artists being given less time than anything else.
@mangolorian117@tamborhuevoso@pizza990 Love that you think you proved me wrong by blindly trusting googles AI to give you accurate info from a niche industry. As someone who actually works in VFX, I can tell you UE is RARELY used for final VFX. For virtual production, absolutely. UE is not the problem though.
@fartman46955321 @popupipapo@LumpyTheCook “Ah, director of 20 year old pirate movie with good CGI said something insightful, so it must be true.” The movie had good CGI because of John Knoll and ILM. Gore was a compositor like 30+ years ago so he thinks he knows what hes talking about. UE is not used for finished VFX.
