It may be victory for CJP
But the work of Shri Dharmendra Pardhan ji for the OBCs can never be forgotten and needs to be remembered.
Some of his pro-OBC policies:
1. 27% Quota Enforcement: As Union Education Minister, he ensured strict implementation of the 27% reservation for OBCs in all central educational institutions.
2. Medical Education Quotas: He strongly advocated for including 27% OBC reservation in the All India Quota (AIQ) for medical and dental admissions (NEET). And Medical quotas for OBCs is his biggest contribution.
3. Faculty Reservation Protection: He championed the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers' Cadre) Act, 2019, which uses a 100-point roster to prevent reserved university teaching posts from going unfilled.
4. Filling Backlog Vacancies: He has spearheaded campaigns in Central Universities, IITs, and IIMs to recruit more OBC, SC, and ST faculty members.
5. Rohith Nathan case victory wherein OBC income computation should not include salary and agricultural income was included.
6. UGC regulations : Pioneered inclusion of OBCs against all opposition.
7. Sub-Categorisation (Rohini Commission): He favoured dividing the OBC category so that benefits reach smaller, less-represented backward communities rather than just dominant groups.
8. Constitutional Power for NCBC: He played an important role in granting constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) as a key step in giving real legal authority to OBC grievance redressing.
9. Central Inclusion of Odisha Castes: He urged the central government to include 108 of Odisha’s Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC) in the Central OBC list.
10. Push for Odisha State Quotas: He has continuously pressed Odisha state leadership to reconstitute the State OBC Commission and expand reservation quotas for local education and civil service jobs.
Whatever it is I respect his contribution to the OBC welfare which has in turn benefitted even SC and STs all over India.
I would urge sir to continue to work for the welfare of SC ST OBCs.
Best wishes to him.
Sad to see this that flower markets have been removed without any alternative for these ladies.
Flower business is a highly volatile business. If it is left for one or two days it will be spoiled.
Ladies run around and sell it on streets so that they can dispose off the bought flowers and make small earnings.
Now whether government has removed city market shops, so many shops in avenue road, Chamarajpet, majestic still exists
Why only selected targeting is the question?
