Dr. Nahla al-Sarraj, a Canadian physician, was dismissed from her position after a coordinated online smear campaign targeted her for publicly supporting Palestine.
🚨 NEWS: ICE is deporting a major Muslim community leader in Dallas after an immigration judge ruled that his past donations to a group later tied to Hamas made him ineligible to remain in the U.S.
The donations date back decades, long before the group was banned, but the ruling still stands.
This case is about to ignite a national fight over how far immigration enforcement can go and what counts as “support” under U.S. law.
It’s so funny to me that people who never had any issues with Mamdani’s recent moves are like “yeah this makes sense” and “he’s so politically savvy, critics in his movement don’t get it.”
Necessary follow ups to this: what does he mean by ‘defending caricatures of our movement’? Winning elections against unpopular, corrupt Zionist Dems?
How does he reconcile his previously expressed views on Jeffries with his endorsement of him as Speaker (which wasn’t necessary)?
Why would supporting primarying Jeffries hurt implementing the agenda (say it, don’t insinuate it)?
What guarantee is there that not challenging (a very hostile) Jeffries would ensure the implementation of Mamdani’s agenda?
The AOC-ification of Zohran Mamdani is happening (has happened) at lightning speed.
Today, without even a moment's hesitation, Mamdani gave his unequivocal endorsement to Hakeem Jeffries for House Speaker if the Democratic Party wins a majority in the midterms.
Mamdani's full-throated support for Jeffries comes a scant two days after Jeffries was one of 86 House Democrats to vote YES on a resolution to demonize and vilify the ideas of socialism.
Like my opponent, Democratic Congressman Adam Smith, Hakeem Jeffries has voted for tens of billions of dollars for the Israeli state's genocide in Gaza. He has voted to ban U.S. funding for United Nations food assistance to the Palestinian people.
Jeffries has gotten a whopping million and a half dollars to date from the Israel lobby.
And just like Adam Smith, Jeffries is a darling of the billionaires and multimillionaires who profit from health insurance corporations, for-profit hospitals, and sky-high pharmaceutical costs. Big Pharma and health insurance CEOs know that Jeffries is a reliable ally for them, who has and will always act as gatekeeper against any effort for universal public healthcare.
We have been through this charade before. The working class cannot put our faith in leaders who refuse to stand up to the establishment and who, instead, lose no time in sucking up to them. We need leaders who will actually FIGHT. We need a new party for the working class.
I mean I'm annoyed about it too, and am concerned for the mental disruption for the players but -- seeing all these angry pastel yt people is not not funny. #usopen

@briebriejoy@BadFaithPod Why can't the girlies just enjoy an imperfect Barbie movie w/ intro to feminism vibes? It was imperfect and Legally Blonde was better. Agreed. It's still a cultural phenomenon and making *most* women feel solidarity in their femininity while acknowledging that girling is hard.
Slowly but surely, as student debt payments resume, millions of people will ask "Why isn't there another pause extension?"
And then they'll find out Biden negotiated away the payment pause months ago in the debt ceiling deal even before the SCOTUS ruling.
I'm tired of dishonest arguments.
Nobody took out student loans expecting the federal government to bail them out.
People took out student loans because education has been priced out of reach.
People took out student loans believing they would be able to pay them back.
Ya'll are really obsessed with me lol.
Anyway, have a good night. Remember: you don't have to vote for Joe Biden.
(And there's nothing you can do to scare me out of tweeting that simple truth).
