Need help from my #edtech and #edtech folks; how are your #worldlanguage teachers coping with online translation apps in the age of distance learning and online assessments?
A6: So proud of staff; proudest moment was last year, after an overnight shift to virtual learning, walking around the school, seeing the strong educators in every room jumping into a new Zoom world with both feet...and making it work! Go staff! #isedcoach
@tsbray A5: I've been more sensitive to the stresses that people are under; want to continue bringing more recognition of people's emotional states to my coaching interactions. #isedcoach
Online coaching is worse, I feel for both coach and teacher. The personal connection is impaired, which is sooooo much of our job. Totally agree @agarrett1212 about the relational role. #isedcoach
A3: I feel we have a stronger sense of community; smaller issues between staff seem to have abated due to the "we're all in this together" mentality. #isedcoach
We are a Grade 7 Class from #Regina, #Saskatchewan. We are exploring our digital footprint and want to see how far this tweet spreads.
Here is a picture of #Grogu on our teacher’s desk.
Please RT this post and reply with a comment where you are so we can map it! Thanks!
@ckim_stokes@PAEA Hi, Kim. How did you get the extra video angles? Did the students use their phones or a second computer on Webex to send you their over-the-shoulder video?
@rharwood17 We have a firm "no entertainment from 8am to 3pm" rule. We deal with this as any other infraction; we have a discipline slip system that any teacher can give, which the students log themselves, and teachers / students get cumulative emails from the back end spreadsheet.
#edtech Anyone got a better answer for this? Kids play games on their laptops before and after school while waiting for rides. Do we ban, allow, or find something in the middle? How does your school handle this?
I encourage people to view the excellent presentation by @tristanharris and his Center for Humane Technology. Talk to people around you about it. All excellent, but main presentation starts at 23:55. https://t.co/mRTW4LfQob
Love the hard work done by @tristanharris in defining what may be the new catch phrase in education, technology, and humanism; the "human downgrading" currently inherent in our technology systems.
.@aza and countless others worked to name "human downgrading." We hope people will recognize it as the 'climate change of culture' – a system of mutually-reinforcing effects that invisibly turn up the dials of addiction, polarization, isolation, shortened attention spans.
@realDonaldTrump Oh, somewhere in this favored land, apologists stand tall,
Fox News is on somewhere, pundits screaming about a wall;
And somewhere MAGA hats are worn, and somewhere rallies shout,
But there is no joy in Trumpville - Michael Cohen has struck out.
A7: We're pushing back against "innovation means anything different." Our def. is that innovation has to involve a change, but also an IMPROVEMENT! We see lots of examples of changes, but harder to demonstrate improvement. #nesachat
