#Recount2024
It was a coup by the billionaires. The fact that so many Americans didn't realize they were being scammed by oligarchs is a testament to the collective stupidity of our country. 😳👇
Raise your hand if you think Elon Musk’s Starlink was the “Little Secret” to win or steal this election. Share this everywhere. #TrumpCheated#Recount2024
I don't know if I've gotten into the wrong feedback loop on tiktok but I'm seeing an awful lot of videos like this.
So many people claiming their mail in ballots haven't been counted.
The way to rebuild “trust in news” is not by having a wealthy newspaper owner, override the independent editorial board.
Now each WaPo story is a question of “What did Bezo’s have rewritten in this story?” Or “What did he block from print”
The 4th estate is political but it is not partisan.
It is not neutral, in the sense that it won’t take sides in a fight, but it is independent, in that those sides change with the facts, and are not entrenched like our current sports team style politics.
Bezo says he wants to compete with the attention of podcasts and other modern media, which are unchecked hyperpartisan factless attention-goblins; and if he wants to turn a profit of off that type of entertainment, he should go buy a podcast.
The Washington Post, is the literal rallying light of the American 4th estate and brought us the phrase “Democracy dies in Darkness”
And now we instead have to ask, what won’t they print because it was inconvenient or “too political”. What will Bezos repress because it hurts the bottom line.
Would Watergate have been too partisan?
But at the end of the day this isn’t what Bezos believes.
It’s the same cowardly shit we see all over tech. People feigning “neutrality” to push their political agenda.
And if you as a private business, that is some consumer product want to do that - that’s fine.
But the news makes a promise of independent journalistic integrity to its readers, and that should be respected.
The people who cheer this move on, aren’t the people who paid for the Washington Post.
People like me, who care deeply about that separation of an independent editorial board, were.
Bezos crossed the line and broke trust that was generations in the making, and can’t be restored while he is at the helm.
Democracy dies in darkness; but newspapers die with oligarchs.
🇵🇷The Trump campaign has responded to Tony Hinchcliffe's racist joke about #PuertoRico:
“This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.” - Danielle Alvarez, Senior Advisor

#Vote
Why am I voting for Kamala Harris? I’m voting for James Chaney, Michael Schwerner and Andrew Goodman. I’m voting for their lives, their untimely deaths and for the sacrifice they made — the price they paid — so that I can be here in this moment using my vote and my voice to make sure that we don’t ever go back.
They died for something, don’t there deaths be for nothing. We owe them. Not because of who we vote for, but that we have the chance to vote at all…
