An important campaign by the Miscarriage Association to seek to add miscarriage loss to bereavement leave entitlements in the Employment Rights Bill.
It's an amendment that makes absolute sense and one I strongly support.
Lord Wolfson told The Lawyer: “As I have said before, and in Parliament: ‘Don’t judge a surgeon by their patients, a journalist by their interviewees—or a lawyer by their clients.’ The rule of law – of which that principle is part – is essential to our democracy."
After all the fuss about Richard Hermer KC and Gerry Adams, it transpires Kemi Badenoch’s shadow Attorney General Lord Wolfson KC is acting for the Russian arm of a logistics giant closely involved in one of Vladimir Putin’s pet projects. https://t.co/kJUqJGl6IF
James Turner was a superb advocate, the family lawyer’s lawyer. He loved and was fascinated by the law. I was privileged to work with him and to be led by him many times. I was honoured to call him my friend. He was loved and will be missed. @JamesTurner37 https://t.co/Lputr45yNf

Its been a remarkable 2024 for Sri Lanka winning 5 ODI series, a feat that last happened 10 years ago. From a struggling team, Sri Lanka are gradually moving towards being an established and a team that can be ranked high. This feat is all the more remarkable because Sri Lanka failed to qualify for the Champions trophy this year. From virtual wooden spoonists to a remarkable turn around has to be appreciated and applauded. Charith and the lads look settled and confident and are not holding back anything. As for the men behind the team, that are all Sri Lankan, spearheaded by the legendary Sanath Jayasuriya, they deserve a massive pat on the back. Cricket has brought not just the fans back but the smiles on their faces too! An infectious enthusiasm is gripping the nation and lets wish everyone the ability and the wisdom to keep going as long as they can. Congratulations to them and proud of you and your achievement.
Cancer hits families hard in Newcastle-under-Lyme and across our country - my family know that.
In #PMQs, I asked the PM to go further and do more in the fight to improve cancer care, early diagnosis and research.
There’s no time to waste. #LoveNuL 🇬🇧🌹
